You and me both Infinity and I'm mad at Soapnet for getting my hopes up that I would get to watch Another World again and then pulling it off the air. :fiery:

I think two older people in here, Infiniti and Rocketta, are being a bit selfish.

The younger generation needed, my generation needed our own soap.
We wanted to start off knowing everything that soap had to offer.
We know there's always going to be secrets but we needed that.

The night soaps were starting to go down the drain in the late 90s, 90210 and Melrose Place.

We absolutely had nothing.
And I'm sorry that you lost Another World for us but GET THE FUCK OVER IT.
It's been almost a decade now.

No matter how much you diss Passions, it will always have a special place in my heart.
I watched the first episode. I watched the last.

I watched how Teresa Lopez Fitzgerald could never let go of Ethan for 9 years and her persistence paid off.
I watched Tabitha Lennox turn from a bad evil witch to a good witch.
I watched every black person have sex with their relative. Ok I might have had a problem with that.

I watched Charles Divins (Chad) become a good actor, from Kimberley Locke's music video 8th world wonder to Passions to Half & Half.
And it didn't help that he was fine as all hell.

They were the ones who made supernatural things on soaps cool.
They were the ones who actually approached looking at the Black DL lifestyle.
I love Passions so much I even considered switching to DirectTV.

So yes this summer it got to a point where even I couldn't defend it but there were some things that will continue to go on other soaps out there that remind me of Passions.

Maybe that's why Another World fans are so bitter, nothing with Amother World actually lived on.
Not my fault, that's why it probably got cancelled in the first place.

I loved Beth. I love that plot especially with the orangutan and Beth supposedly turning lesbian just to be able to make the plot work.

It's old enough to not know where my generation of soap fans are in regards to Passions.
Is it that hard to admit that you're a bit out of touch with us?

I'll admit that I'm out of touch with what people 6 years younger than me listen to, I don't get this rock out there now or some of the Southern rap, I grew up with Brooklyn style, east and west, not south.
So there's no reason to get all defensive because there's nothing wrong with that.
We all grow up.
That's the problem with some people on here.
They rather find any sort of way to deny the truth that is right in front of them.

We wanted to enjoy soaps too. We wanted to belong with the rest of the soap fans with something that related to us.
And for a while we did with Passions. It was still a good soap until around late 2006.

And as I have mentioned before, not even I could defend it this summer.

Oh I believe you... I was actually the youngest of a group of AW fans on an aol board back then. In fact one of my dearest friends today is an older Jewish lady from L.I. New York. We bonded over a soap opera  Oh, and I loved that storyline too , but my fav was anything to do with Carl :D

And I managed to like One Life To Live in the 90s with Vicky being all crazy and shit but that doesn't mean I didn't want a soap that I could really call my own.

I don't have a problem with you missing it, I have a problem with you blaming Passions for it going down the tube.

Obviously NBC thought it had a market for my age group and took a risk.
That risk had Passions as the 4th ranked soap for a while in 2002.

Passions was the worst soap opera in television history. The writers were pathetic and the plots were horrendous! The show would have lasted much longer if they knew how to bring things to closure every once in a while. No, I don't miss it at all. I was tormented by Ethan's stupidity and Teresa's repetitiveness. Bad, bad, bad!!!

Oh you naive poster.
Have you ever seen The Hills?

Some people might put it under "reality television" but that's pretty much a soap.

And an awful one at that.

So ok Teresa on the verge of tears all the time even when she was suppose to be happy was quite annoying.

But there's some reality to the situation.
The girl has the crush on this man, she has sex with him, she loves everything about him including the dick, someone tries to slander her to get her away from him, and she finally clears up her name.

It's just like my life soap opera, crush on porn star, stalk porn star, have sex with him, love everything including, someone tried to take him away from me, clear up my name and now he's mines.

You know this is a thread about Passions.
Maybe some of you aren't getting that but if you want to talk about Another World just make another thread.
It's pretty simple.

Let us fans who liked Passions, enjoy conversations about it without the bitterness.

Again it isn't our fault that Another World is gone and you couldn't talk much about it at the time because forums, some like this one, were in their infancy or not even thought of.

Now you can and you can do it without talking about Passions.
It is possible to do you know.

Hint: This is a warning.
You do not want me to get nasty today because the earring are coming off. EVERYWHERE. :tape:
I will turn this mutha out. Trust.
Stop fucking with ma soap, seriously.

I miss Passions. It was the only soap Iwas actually invested in. Fuck Bold and The Beautiful, Guiding Light, that other show with Eva the Diva on it, General Hospital, All My Children or whatever they are called. Passions had the best looking people, with the most twisted OMG WHAT THE FUCK plots ever. Dr Eve and her bitch sister where my life for the whole summer between 10th and 11th grade.

Oh I absolutely loved Liz. She was bitch beyond bitch.

You're right Passions had some hot people, Charles Divins and Jesse Metcalfe.

Passions had just as many heartthrobs that made it big as the other shows.

Jesse Metcalfe had a movie that was all about him basically with John Tucker must die.
Not even Shemar Moore's fine ass has gotten that.

The last episode of Passions is on youtube.

They finally found the video that Gwen and Rebecca made, identifying them as the culprits of leaking Ethan's paternity.

Soaps Scribe James E. Reilly Dies at 60

James E. Reilly, a sometimes controversial soap scribe who twice served as Days of Our Lives' headwriter and created the supernatural-themed Passions, passed away over the weekend, at age 60, Soap Opera Digest reports. Reilly was recovering in the hospital from cardiac surgery when he died.

"James Reilly was one of the most profoundly lovely human beings in our industry," his agent and longtime friend Jonathan Russo tells Digest. "He was a towering person in our industry who had a tremendous faith in God and Catholicism, as anyone who watched Passions knows. Everyone will miss him."

Reilly ruled the bible at Days from 1992 to 1997 (during which he gave us Marlena's possession) and again from 2003 to 2006, at which time he set loose the "Salem Stalker" in a bid to boost ratings. The serial slayer appeared to snuff veteran characters such as Abe, Roman, Doug and Alice (god bless her donuts), but ultimately the "deceased" were revealed to be held captive on island replica of Salem called Melaswen (read the name backwards).

Between his Days gigs, Reilly created for NBC a new soap named Passions, and served as headwriter until its cancellation earlier this year. As headwriter of Guiding Light, Reilly's staff won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series Writing in 1993.

many years ago, i tried to watch it for a few months, but even with a few :drink:, it's hard. it's so bad that there is no way you forget that this is a soap. for my daily dose of believable nonsense, i'll stick to y&r.
