I guess it makes little financial sense for lower ranked players to go all the way to Asia just for qualifying. Bali is not close to anything - even China or Australia would be 5-6 h flights...

Many players don't want to risk flying all the way down to Bali only to miss out on making the 16-player draw. Had this been a 32-player draw, I'm sure it'd be a lot fuller...

No, she wouldn't, she can't even get through qualifying in 10Ks. But she and the other super-rich bagel girls could have earned a WTA point just by showing up, and I wonder why they didn't. It's not like an expensive trip to a resort in Bali would bother them!

why bothered to have Q draw, can they just squezze some of the players to MD?
