Should I buy these?

It would be for playing music from my laptop (not ipod). I find music on a website and play it, but the laptop's speakers are too small to make it sound good.

What I don't understand is how my PC will send the music to the speakers to play. For ex, I have my laptop on and it is playing music. Then I would have these two new speakers, let's say in another room in the house. How would the speakers receive the music from the laptop.... do I have to plug something into the speakers or the laptop?

I wouldn't spend $100 on speakers, but mainly because I wouldn't be using them a whole lot. So, no advice, but to answer your question about the speakers receiving music from your laptop... from the quick look at the pictures, instead of connecting the transmitter to your ipod, you would connect it to your laptop.

That's probably all there is to it.

Oh, I see. I connect the round thingy to the laptop. Hm, I guess I could do that, but sometimes I'm lying on a couch or something.

Well, it doesn't say, but perhaps the transmitter's audio cord is long enough that you can have the transmitter on a table or something. But it does need to be connected to the laptop if you want to use it with the laptop.

Here's the manual for it, in case you didn't see it already:

Thanks.

So here are the Pros:

Wireless (except for the transmitter box, which has to be plugged to the laptop).
Price under $100 (incl shipping).

Cons:
Need to attach the box to the laptop
Maybe don't have top quality sound.

No need to be like that, but seriously, you don't need our help for little things like this.

my suggestion?
carry your laptop to whatever room you're in.

that way, you have music, and you've saved $99!

OK, I'm not very good with new techonology and want to get it right the first time. I hate buying things that dont work well and then both having to replace them and having to deal with the old item that didnt work (return it?, sell it? trash it?). I also want advice on an ipod or whatever too. So maybe this can be an electronics advice thread.

I'm sure there are people who love this techy stuff and love to advise people on what they've tried or seen on the market.

Cheertennis, the speakers on my laptop are just little things not designed to bring sound to an entire room or floor of a house.
