Choose your picks carefully...
New Haven 2008
How does it work?
You start with 2000 points. You have to use these points to defeat your opponent. For each match you make a pick. With a right pick you gain points, but if it's wrong then you lose the points.
EXAMPLE
Venus Williams vs. Serena Williams 1,90 - 1,80
Jelena Jankovic vs. Caroline Wozniacki 1,45 - 2,70
Maria Sharapova vs. Alize Cornet 1,40 - 2,75
If you pick Venus Williams and put 200 points on her.
If she wins you get 200*1,9 = 380 points
Your total will be 2000 - 200 + 380 = 2180 points.
If Venus loses then your total is 1000 -200 + 0 = 1800 points
You have also the choice to combined 2 or picks.
Put 300 at Jankovic and Sharapova.
300*1,45*1,40 = 609
If both of them win your total points = 2000 - 300 + 609 = 2309
If one of them loses then you lose all of your 300 points.
You can also take less risk and you split the points between them
150 at Jankovic
150 at Sharapova
In this way you still get some points if 1 of them loses.
Jankovic loses and Sharapova wins.
Then you get 1,40*150 = 210 points for Sharapova
Your total points will be: 2000 - 150 - 150 + 210 = 1910
Rules:
1.
The minium of matches you have to choose for each Round:
Round 1: At least 7 Picks
Round 2: At least 5 Picks
QF: At least 3 Picks
SF + Final: Pick all the matches at least once
It will cost you points if you don't have the minimum number of matches. If you have 6 matches in Round 1 your total is 6/7 of the won points. 5 matches is 5/7 etc. So also with the other rounds.
2. You play against an opponent. It's a knock out system. So if you lose you're out!
3. You win if you have more points then your opponent after the Round is finished.
4. Each round you start with 2000 points. You better use all of these points. Not used points won't be added to your total.
5. Retirements do count if 1 set is played.
If there's less than 1 set played, you get your points back.
6. If the points are equal after a round then the following counts:
1. Player with the most picks.
2. Predict the total of games that are played in that Round.
The one who is closest to it wins.
3. Total of bagels (6-0 sets) in that Round.
Again, the one who is closest to it wins.
If it's still equal, then we look at your total points of the previous round. If it's the 1st Round, then the player who send picks first wins.
