Nadia Petrova beat compatriot Galina Voskoboeva 6-3, 6-0 in 65 minutes Tuesday afternoon - and won at doubles with Maria Kirilenko two matches later.
It was a busy day for Petrova, the second-seeded singles player.
"I didn't expect to play doubles today. I didn't look at the schedule until this morning and I figured out that I didn't bring enough clothes," Petrova said. "I have to go back to the hotel and get some more clothes. But (I think) I have enough time so I don't have to rush."
The wrinkle in plans didn't seem to have an effect. Petrova and Kirilenko defeated Anne Keothavong and Monica Niculescu.
Petrova, ranked 21st, said concentration lapses took their toll in a slow start.

Awww bad luck for Julie but I hope she is at least having the experience of a lifetime spending the last year on the WTA tour.

For a older player who spent nearly her entire career on the Challenger circuit, I can only give her big kudos for finally being able to play against tougher competition week end and out on the main tour.

Not sure how much longer she will be able to keep playing these events all the time but I hope she keeps enjoying the experience as long as it can last.

She doesn't have a clothing contract, does she? She could just go to the pro shop at the tournament and get something. :p
