Wow, I think the USTA did a fantastic job this year. I may have put Shenay MD and Asia in Q, but that's not that big a deal. Love this list.

Good picks except for Coco and Asia... Coco still hasnt won a tournament and is an error factory. Asia had poor result in the hard courts. US tennis isnt looking good for the future.

She reached the final last week of the USTA Girls Nationals. Where were you when this happened ? She also signed a million dollar contract with IMG :worship:. The people who matter see the potential in CoCo, thats all that really matters:bounce:.

Anyways, PERFECT choices for WCs :bounce:.

You don't seriously think IMG cares about Coco's future do you! Get real. They just want to sign as many deals based on early hype as possible before reality sets in based on actual performance. Same approach as the dot coms. It's no accident that she doesn't play much. Coco did NOT get a $1 MM contract with IMG. They simply loaned her money (much less than $1 MM) on the bet that they can get her some contracts to backstop their loan. Same approach as Donald Young (after his experience he bailed on IMG for Octagon). I know a cool million makes a good story...but it ain't the truth!

Jealous, much?

Coco already has haters even though she has not done anything on tour yet..

Not jealous. Just not a phoney baloney...believe in telling the truth. I wish Coco well. Feel kinda sorry for her that she's the next potential victim of the machine. She'd be better off keeping her head down and just focusing on her game and her development...the hype isn't going to help her.

Where's this mythical hype coming from? I don't recall reading any article that was hyping her.

Lindsay Davenport see potential in her. I know you said about how Lindsay's trying to help Robert to find an income, but spare me the :bs:, Coco does have potential to become a good player and whether you like it or not, her style of play is identical to Lindsay Davenport and with a good coach that was recommended, she MIGHT be able to become a good player.

And no one here is saying that Coco will suddenly become a top 10 player. Even her fans know that it takes time, duh.

I know, and 99% of them have never even seen her play ( or know her story ) to know what the *heck* they are talking about. Its not even worth arguing with people like that.

Just hait and see...:wavey:

I like Coco and wish her well...seriously! She does have potential. My issue is not with her at all. An example of the hype is the IMG $1 MM contract bs. Let's not perpetuate all that nonsense and create unrealistic expectations so she can just focus on doing the right things for her development and being the best she can be. For example, she should be playing more junior tournaments but of course IMG would rather her not, and see her in US Open Main Draw when she can't even beat Gail Brodsky yet! Donald Young ended up alright, but he almost quit tennis after being misguided by IMG for years.

Exactly and I don't see the point in bashing her just because you're envious of her potential and support? Give the girl a break. She's talented, really sweet and still very young. It's not, like Felix said, like we're expecting her to become a top player in the up-coming months. We just see her potential that others haven't realized yet.

BTW, it seems Tatishvili didn't get a WC this year. It seems that the USTA finally discovered that she was from Georgia...the country, not the state.

Asia, Melanie and CoCo are also good choices.

Kucova  The US Open should award a MD WC to last year's junior champ

NCAA champs used to be given maindraw wc's; why wasn't Amanda McDowell given one?

I like these for the most part. Perhaps Chelsey Gullickson or Mallory Cecil over Stephens but the USTA made mostly fine choices.
