who replaces her now in singles and doubles?

Singles replacement will be the top rated doubles player who is not already in singles.

I think doubles will have to forfeit; not sure.

This is probably old news but just posted:

Lindsay Davenport (USA) has withdrawn through injury and is replaced by Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez (ESP). Davenport will still contest the women's doubles with Liezel Huber (USA). Martinez Sanchez will face Alicia Molik (AUS) in the first round.

I'll see who is after Martinez Sanchez, to replace Tati.

It is Maret Ani of Estonia.

If for some reason she doesn't play it, then the ones after her are:

Tzipora Obziler (ISR - 117)
Greta Arn (HUN - 142)
Sunitha Rao (IND - 159)
Tatiana Poutchek (BLR - 162)
Emanuelle Gagliardi (SUI - 168)
Betina Jozami (ARG - 183)
Anna Gerasimou (GRE - 230)

Amelie has declined to play after her name was not included on the initial list. Even after Mary Pierce pulled out, Amelie still refused to play because she wants to focus on the hardcourt season.

Ridiculous. I like Tatiana, but it was obvious she wasn't ready to play here  She took the place of Rezai or even Pin. But just to come in Beijing seemed to be more important than anything else, even if it prevents in shape players to defend France's chances.

She had been training for about 3 weeks and everything seemed to be OK. All the French staff, the trainers, the DTN said she was ready. She's just very unlucky.

And I prefer Ani or someone else to play instead of Aravane.Because you believe in official speechs of French staff ? It's mistake after mistake. And Nobody knows if she was really able to play due to medical secret. This story reminds me soccer player Patrick Vieira's case during European Championship. French Staff made the same mistake. Moreover, they let her standing during 4 hours during opening ceremony.

Aravane or Camille must be very happy.

But what people need to understand is that this is Tati's first Olympic (and most likely the last with the long list of injury that she's having). Representing the country is very important to her (after she was ditched for Testud in 2004, she was very disappointed) and I doubt she will miss out the ceremony which is one of the highlight of the game. Even Davenport claimed that it was the best night of her career.

Aravane and especially Camille must be very disappointed like many others French athletes.

And Lindsay will play doubles contrary to Tatiana.

Representing your country is first about playing matches, not just parading with little flags smiling to the camera and getting to be in the picture with the president.
If the ceremony's all you can do, then leave the place for someone else to represent your country. Sorry to be harsh, but as much as it's sad that she's repeatedly injured and all, I'm fed up with the "1st OG, robbed last time, poor tati" excuses. French federation and Golovin messed up big time.
