I dont know how many of you have the Tennis Channel but recently they added this trivia portion to their commercials. Well I've just noticed that they dont know the answers to their own questions.

The Question, Who was the 1st Russian woman to win a grand slam singles title.

a.Elena Dementieva
b.Anastasia Myskina
c.Svetlana Kuznetsova
d.Maria Sharapova

The commercial ends with option a,b, and c fading away and you're left with Maria Sharapova which is obviously wrong. Its Anastasia Myskina:mad:

OMG, I saw that and I said to myself that's not right wasn't it Myskina....someone needs to e-mail them and let them know they are wrong....for godness sakes it's suppose to be the Tennis Channel which is suppose to have accurate information. I wish I had they # I would call them and realm them out.

Yeah cause I knew all the answers to the other 5-8 questions and that one came along and I was like this is easy, Myskina. Then the guy said Maria Sharapova and I was like what the hell? I wonder if anyone has called or e-mailed them.

I don't know why all of you complain
The question was "who was the 1st to WIN a Grand Slam?" and Myskina according to general opinion was handed FO title when real top-players selfdestructed against her.
So, naturally, Sharapova is the correct answer.

A lot of people use slam/granslam interchangeably. You'd hope that the dedicated cable channel of tennis would know better.

So far TTC's been a disappointment. Despite the gaffes I'm still pulling for 'em!

I saw this and was laughing at the TC. The question is really easy and even they got it wrong. It's like they made up the ANSWER before they even researched the question. TTC embarrased me as a tennis fan.

Someone needs to let them know this. I don't know how to contact them.

Well Sharapova is the most known russian tennis player in the world so yeah the fact is wrong but Myskina hasn't done anything but win the Roland Garros one time, it's ok for them to have their mistake but at the same time they need to have their facts correctly.

I saw this since Wimbledon. I don't know if it was TTC who asked the trivia question just before the break, but they made the same mistake then. I guess nobody corrected them. But how uninformed can you be? I figured it was more wishful thinking than anything else, tho.

It's not secret that for many other media Womans Tennis started with Maria Sharapova, so she is not only first Russian woman which won slam - she is first woman ever which won slam

Excuse me sir, do you see me tryna put in my order? Don't interrupt, ruuude.

On topic though, that is a rather bad mistake. Quite disrespectful towards Myskina, at least that's the way I see it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Leif Shiras who was behind this, that man is just an idiot.

During Wimbledon there was a quiz on British TV that asked how many times Serena, sister of Venus Williams, had won Wimbledon singles. The options were once, twice or 4 times. And of course they gave the answer at 4 :help: and the best bit is that this was a quiz for money, not just fun lol...
