Kind of expected, though.

This is what she e-mailed golovin-attitude.com on June 29:

Tatiana kindly gave us some news by mail today !

"I?m in Miami right now, I?m having light practices and I hope to start practicing normally on hard court in about 10 days ! I begin to be very impatient to get back in shape and to go back to competition ! I would also like to thank you all for your support during those difficult moments!
See you soon on the courts !
Kisses
Tati"

So I'm not really sure if I see her back for Montreal which is just a week after LA. After that, she's only entered in the OP and the USO before the indoor season. Her ranking could end up being 250-300 if she stays out for the rest of the year...

Here's an updated list of withdraws:
Paris (OGdF)/Fed Cup
Antwerp
Indian Wells
Miami
Amelia Island
Charleston
Rome
Strasbourg
Roland Garros
Birmingham
Eastbourne
Wimbledon
LA

She's played only three events since the Australian Open and only won one match in those events. She had back surgery and appendicitis early in the year after injuring her back against Cohen-Aloro in the AO, only to discover a huge cyst later, for those who don't know the story.

Sorry for such an in-depth analysis but it's really boring without her for me.

Omg Poor Tati (and her fans)

Im sure if her ranking drops its no problem since she has the talent anyways, and WC will help her get her rank back up!!

Well, plus she would have a protected rank by that point. I think if you miss three slams, you recieve one.

It just sucks seeing her have to climb the rankings again as before all of this she was just a few steps away from breaking into the top 10, ranked 12 with virtually no points to defend on grass/clay.

Not much of a surprise. At this point i would be very surprise to see Tati back on the court before the Olympics.

Yeah but as soon as she gets back on her feet she will be able to make a lot of ground very quickly, so that will be exciting too?

It isnt as if she is just really struggling with her game. Im sure that she will be playing great, its just her body restricting her atm.

Her injuries arent serious long term though?

Well, I do . But I am a deluded Golowhore fan so what do I know .

Anyway, it's not a surprise really...I kinda feel she won't play anymore this year...Maybe just the Olympics. She probably wants to start over next year with that protected ranking thing. Tati :hug:

You have to be out for six months consecutive months to get a protected ranking so Tati probably won't get one unless she doesn't play again this year.

It's hard to be Tati fan at the moment. :rain:

I doubt she'll be ready for the OG and USO. I see her back on court in the indoor season at the earliest...

F******* injuries :sobbing:

Get well soon, Tati

You're right. Have they changed that recently as I remember the rule once being that a player could recieve a SR if they missed three consecutive slams.

The smoking is not helping her get better any sooner. I just hope she takes her health more seriously and comes back strong :)

Those pics were from the Indian Wells period, ttwo months before she would even try a comeback in Memphis and before her surgery(s). She couldn't train or anything. Are we supposed to expect her not to have a life at all while she's injured? Should she just sit around and watch TV or something?

Besides, since we've never seen other pics of that, it appears she's a social smoker. :p Just accepted one from her friend, or something like that..

Edit (computer won't let me): Sorry, the smoking pics were taken after her surgery. They were two + months before she would attempt a comeback in the clay-court season.
