:D

Hmmm... that doesnt mean a lot... At that age some girls were winning their matches at WTA tournaments and later on they disappeared....so... still hard work to do for that girl....

Well... Hingis's records will ALWAYS stay in tennis book history...She has made so many records... I think its stupid to discus about Hingis and her position in women tennis. Just look at her career from the age of 15-20....

not to take anything away from Hingis, but do you think playing in juniors really benefit them when the turn pro? I mean if you have it you have it, if you don't you don't. Take Laura Robson for example, what are the chances we're gonna hear from her ever again when she turns pro?

I TOTALLY agree with you... So many good juniors (Lucic, Barabanschikowa, Tulyaganova...) and haven't done ANYTHING as seniors...I just wanted to say that Hingis had good juniors and seniors career.

P.s. sorry for my reaction but I just ADORE Swiss Miss :D...my best player EVER :D and miss her so much :(

We've already made conclusion about Miss Krunic...She still has a lot of to do so we can say she is a good player...now she is just a potential talent, maybe wasted :D

It's not really a sensation because her draw was really easy. She played just one girl into top 700 (a Romanian girl in a slump) and other players are out of top 1000 ! So many young juniors could have won that !

However I know she's a really good junior !

Aleksandra is Serbian girl which is born and live in Moscow... so if we look how many Serbs we have this season in TOP5 and how many Moscow girls in TOP20 - it's seems like perfect combination right now .

And BTW it's not so often case that player aged 15 won her 1st 10K tournament. Of active players which also start PRO career so early and won title at first 10K which ever played I know about Sharapova, Vaidisova, Hantuchova, Zvonareva, Bovina, Karatantcheva, Kleybanova, Pavlyuchenkova... but i'm doubt that we have too many "anonimus" players with that rookie achivment. So Krunic already deserve to be mentouned here with some respect b/c her good PRO career start.

her name doesn't sound like Serbians :shrug:Because her real name is actualy AleKSandra (one of 10 most common female names in Serbia), not AleXandra ("international" version of same name). It's not so unusual that for some sportsman is used some "correction" in original name. I think Nadia Petrova real name is Nadezdha, Anabel Medina real name is Ana Isabel, Venus Williams real name is Venus Ebony Star... etc... but they all in version which use in public have some name correction (only b/c practical reasons and nothing else).

She will be maybe next big name which produce famouos Spartak Moscow tennis school (Dementieva, Myskina, Safina...) and right now at 15 have nice chances to compete already at US Open this summer her first "grade A" tournament if her fast jr-rankings improvement is continue in next two months. It's too early of corse for serious predictions - but all signs so far is realy very good about her on this level.

i actually think he was talking about her surname. which is weird because it ends with -ic (-ich) which is typically serbian.

i added this girl to my watch list when she reached the final in prokuplje. you had brought her to my attention with your thread ;) let's see how far she can get.

well, not all of them end with -ic :p and normally only surnames can be called "serbian", "russian", "german" etc because they go generations back and you can't choose them. your parents can choose to give you any name otherwise :p
