Nice thread idea but :o

It will be a very competitive hardcourt season leading up to USO.

I call Serena as US Open Series winner on the basis that she has a heavy schedule!

I think the Williams, Sharapova, and Ivanovic will be dominant. Also good contenders will include Hauntachova, Chakvetadze, Vaidisova, Radwanska, Demetieva, and Jankovic. All are good hard courters

Everytime these predictions are made about (1) Aussie Open and (2) Summer Hardcourt Season...they're wrong. Roland Garros and Wimbledon have been historically easier to predict. Aussie Open generally has to do with who comes into the season in the best form and the summer hardcourt season has a lot to do with who remains healthy during the most painful part of the season. I generally find the US Open as the most competitive of the slams for this reason. I don't think picking "favorites" right now is predictive. Wait until the Olympics is over.

You've got to give Lindsay a outside chance on hard court her record speaks for itself. But the problem might be can the body hold up. She's playing Standford, LA, Olympics and US open. If she doesn't announce her retirement after the US open Lindsay may want to take a long rest after that schedule. :)

Very smart schedule from Lindsay, provided that she's healthy. She's gonna be facing tough competition in all events, but she can definitely contend for those titles.

JJ has a good chance and has a Final to Defend in Montreal. Serena could do well but she is play three straight tournies so she might run out of gas for Olympics. The feild in LA this year is eally strogn that will be a graet tourny.

please when is the first tier 1 event ?

It's Montreal beginning on July 26th. It's this year's only Tier I since San Diego is out of the schedule.
Ana, Masha, Venus, JJ, Elena D, Chaky and Dinara all have confirmed so it should be a great tournament! :bounce:

I don't think there's going to be much of a Hard Court season this year - unless you count Olympics and USO. Expect a lot of withdrawals from everything else.
