I love cows too, very nice animals so the comparison might be right.

But yeah I agree we need Sveta back to her old passion self :sobbing:

I am Thomas :wavey:

lol, I was going to change my sig and av anyway, because after a day or 2 all anger evaporates and I got over Sveta, Jelena and Jieīs crappy losses.

Right now, Sveta is kinda like a cow to me :help: I love cows, they are adorable, but sometimes cows are the most calm, dull, passionless animals.

Right now, Sveta needs passion and fire :hearts:

kinda dont agree with that but I live in a country full of cows and on school use to work with them. they are pretty funny and all jumpy over here dont know about that where you live but they might be doing something wrong there.

Lol.

In English the adjective "bovine" means something that is dull, lifeless. As in "a bovine attitude"

There must be a reason :ras:

lol thomas you change a lot of avatars :p now you are supporting Sybille?
I'm not bothered enough to support any of the contenders left .All I want is Miami to start.

Mel,here also cows are viewed the way Thomas said. It's probably because people don't know a lot about them as you do,but that's the general perception of cows.I have to say I don't know shit about cows and the first time I saw some was in a trip to Germany.

I loved cows! My grandmom had one called Zor'ka( Dawn in english). I remember I with granddad went to pasture cattle when I was young. My fav cow was neighbour's Marta. She was calm and friendly.:) Ours was obstinate  Oh, and forgot to add- I like fresh milk! Last time i visited relatives at the counryside I went to neighbours everyday to buy some fresh milk. yummy!!

That's so cool Tati, my grandmother had chickens and kittens

Cows are very boring cos all they do is chew grass

Whenever I go to holland for hols, my relatives over there take me to the farms where they get the milk. 2 years ago I saw a cow give birth, it was so amazing! Life being born! The smell is disgusting but then you get used to it after 10 minutes but I hate fresh milk cos you don't have it in the UK cos it's pasteurised so that fatty creamy taste (ick) is gone so it was horrible having to drink it for the first time, I haven't drunk fresh milk since :p

I remember being at school and every 2 hours you had an other subject so we had to go but we skipped the next lesson cuz a cow was about to give birth to her baby, we stayed(teacher was angry at first but forgived us when we explained) and helped the mum cuz the baby was stuck I had to do all the work cuz my classmates thought is was disgusting. I am used to the smell and the mucus. we stayed untill mum could take over and likked the baby clean it was great to see.

hey,I was thinking of asking Lefty (the moderator of this forum) for some threads to be moved up to important,so it's easier to find them. What do you think?

I was thinking of:

-Photos of Sveta
-Sveta off-court pictures thread
-Videos of Sveta
-Sveta articles

These are the threads where all the important info, photos and stuff is posted.Maybe I have forgotten some other important thread,so any suggestions are welcomed.

The rest of the threads are basically the tournament threads or the fun threads (off-topic,music thread, sveta football team...) and can be bumped when needed.

What do you think?

If you all agree,I'll send a message to Lefty asking tonight or tomorrow.

PersephoneDisco
Mar 25th, 2009, 04:33 PM

let's hear what the other regular visitors have to say.

Hi, everyone :wavey:

I've only been here a little bit, in the past week or so. It wasn't just Sveta and IW; I have had clinical depression and this time it really knocked me on my butt. When I don't even feel like spending time here, it's bad ;). I've been to the doctor, got on medication, and feel ever so much better, thank goodness. It's also about doing the things that help me, like swimming. I went today, and it felt great :). I feel like I've been out of the loop for a bit.

I agree with the stickies that Vero suggested, plus perhaps this one. We "use" this one the most to catch up, to talk about whatever. I know I'm glad for it. Football and music always lurk around towards the top, anyway, so we can find them quickly.

Just my twopence :wavey:.

I was lucky enough to watch her twice live and her game and focus always amazed me.She could do anything she wanted on a tennis court, very versatile player and that's not something you can tell about most of today's top 10 players, sorry. She was very gifted and at the same time, very serious about her sport and hard-working.I think she was a very good ambassador for the women's game and when all my faves had gone down in tournaments, well there was still always Justine to enjoy.

Of course, from a Sveta fan point of view her record was frustrating but I prefer to keep the positives. She defeated Justine twice and was close in more occasions,it's something the serbian stars can't say for exemple ;) They didn't score a single win vs Justine :p

And well,Sveta and Justine seemed to like each other and respect each other a lot.I can still remember how Justine last year said she'd like Sveta winning RG above the rest.Too bad she played that horrid SF match because I think she'd have had more chances vs Ivanovic in the final than Safina,as she was the more experienced player and pressure was on Ana to win her first slam. But I guess that's Sveta's story in last years:wasted opportunities :sobbing:

As for Kim,never was a fan,I enjoyed her playing because her fighting attitude was always admirable, but that was it.In some way,she reminds me a bit of Sveta as both are very athletic woman and fight very hard on court, but all ends here.

ok I was already talking about this yesterday but I only know 2 songs she likes and this is what I came up with. I was thinkig to use it for a banner when I go to stuttgart but maybe you have some other ideas cuz I am not good at that.

first one:

is from the song stronger from kanye west I remember her singing it in a break when they put it on the speakers. kanye sings:n- n- now th- that don't kill me,can only make me stronger
I made this of it:
n-n-now that wonít kill her
can only make her stronger.

then second song is in da club from 50 cent:

he sings: Go shawny, it's your birthday,We gon' party like it's your birthday
I made this of it:
Go sveta itís your birthday
We gonna party like itís your birthday

but it only makes sence at wimbledon cuz then it usually is her birthday.

and at last I took a song of 50cent but never heard her talking about it.
it is from the song god gave me style.

he sings: god gave me style, god gave me grace.

I made: god gave her style god gave her grace.

yesterday this all seemed a good plan but it didnt work out the way I want it does anybody have any ideas for my banner.

ow and vero I found the part where she is singing stronger. it was in madrid as I said and it was the second match against maria sharapova. she won the first set 7-5 and in the break of 2-1 she is singing it.

I found this:

The # in () is how many times the country won Fed Cup and the x# means they won Fed Cup that many times.

Russia team winners (4): Svetlana Kuznetsova x3, Anastasia Myskina x2, Vera Zvonareva x2, Elena Vesnina x2, Elena Dementieva, Nadia Petrova, Anna Chakvetadze, Dinara Safina, Ekaterina Makarova, Vera Dushevina, Elena Likhovtseva

So Sveta is currently the russian player who has won more Fed Cups for her country,3 times :yeah: :worship:

and let's hope this year they can add the 4th :D

yeah I do love her maybe even more I have something with nerdy dogs. she needs a lot of attention she cant play with other dogs cuz she cant read their signs. she is slowly getting blind so when a other dogs show he doesnt want to play anymore she cant see it. but the last year she doesnt play with dogs anymore only with people. she barks on everything she hears my family doenst like that but she only listens to me cuz I have patience with her she is great you only have to put more energie in it.

"Sveta K is in da club" :)

that is a good one. well I dont really like the lyrics for songs with good lyrics I go for other songs but it is the beat or the melody I like in it. Bepa's participation in the Fed Cup SF against Italy (25th-26th of April) is questionable.
Anna Chakvetadze and Nadia Petrova have agreed to play.
A young player (Kleybanova/Pavlyuchenkova/Makarova/Vesnina) will go if necessary.
Tarpischev expects Kuznetsova to agree to play soon.
As for Bepa, she has been advised to rest for 10 days because of a groin injury, so there's no guarantee that she will play Charleston.

Someone posted this on Bepa's thread:

Bepa's participation in the Fed Cup SF against Italy (25th-26th of April) is questionable.
Anna Chakvetadze and Nadia Petrova have agreed to play.
A young player (Kleybanova/Pavlyuchenkova/Makarova/Vesnina) will go if necessary.
Tarpischev expects Kuznetsova to agree to play soon.
As for Bepa, she has been advised to rest for 10 days because of a groin injury, so there's no guarantee that she will play Charleston.

I thought Sveta had already agreed to play it

I would have thought that besides Bepa's injury everyone else would be confirmed? There's only two weeks till FC.

I hope Sveta will play, not only for selfish reasons (I don't want to wait more days :p) but also without Vera and without Sveta Russia's chances would be reduced and I see the italians are already doing good on clay tournaments as Marbella and getting a good preparation.

Italy names squad
Italian captain Corrado Barazzutti has announced his squad for their Fed Cup by BNP Paribas semifinal against Russia.
The team line up is the same as it was for their first round victory over France and is as follows:

Sara Errani
Flavia Pennetta
Francesca Schiavone
Roberta Vinci

The tie will take place on clay at the Nova Yardinia in Castellaneta Marina on April 25-26.

The last time the two nations met was in the 2007 final in Moscow when Russia ran out as convincing winners 4-0 :D

11 days or 12 days left (depending where you live) ;)and does anyone have any news on Russia's team of who's in and who's out, Anyone....Anyone....Bueller?

because in Russia u can write endings using "и" or "ь" in some words . just like u can write "C Днем Рожденья" or "С днем Рождения" which meams Happy B-day. It's hard to expain grammatically. it's like my name in latin-Татьяна and I can write Tatiana, Tatjana, Tatyana or even Tathiana

Hi, all :wavey:

I am sorry I haven't been here a lot lately. Sometimes I fall into depressions so deep that just logging in to see what's happening is a big effort. That, plus things generally going pffft in real life, and I sort of went on hiatus. I went back to the doctor and am on medication that thankfully doesn't have freaky side effects, and I feel ever so much better. The downside is, I may be on it for a long time. But that's better than the alternative :help:.

So I guess this is a quiet time before Fed Cup (assuming Sveta plays it?), and whatever tournament she's in next? Then I think she plays much more frequently, all the way into summer.

BTW, how did you (collective you) get your names in Russian? I have the easiest name of all of you ;):p, and yes, I'm going to copy.

It makes me feel sad to see someone struggling, depression is such a serious condition and unfortunately it's invisible to many people, it's not like when you break your arm and wear plaster so everyone knows your are suffering. Unfortunately with the financial crisis I think depression will become more prevalent. Here's Stef's helpful tips:
* Don't be ashamed to take medication if nothing else is helping
* Don't blame yourself for every bad event that happens in your life
* Make sure you take care of yourself and indulge in something you enjoy
* Stay away from supermarkets, I'm positive there is a link between the music they play and depression (although I can't scientifically prove it....yet)
* Keep coming back here when you can, hopefully everyone's funny comments and Sveta/Momosova interviews will give you a lift
* Turn that frown upside down

I went back to the doctor and am on medication that thankfully doesn't have freaky side effects, and I feel ever so much better. The downside is, I may be on it for a long time. But that's better than the alternative :help:.

So I guess this is a quiet time before Fed Cup (assuming Sveta plays it?), and whatever tournament she's in next? Then I think she plays much more frequently, all the way into summer.

BTW, how did you (collective you) get your names in Russian? I have the easiest name of all of you ;):p, and yes, I'm going to copy.

well as I said in my pm you can always talk if you want to. maybe I can help since my mum has the same and I am going to the docter for it too. I will be there to listen if you want to the more you talk the better you feel.
:kiss::hug:

Oh, yes please, Mel ;). I understand the house can get very crowded with groups and tourists; it would be cool to almost see it without people, as it was when Anne lived there.

And speaking of Argentina, I've always wanted to go there myself :). I don't eat a lot of meat, but I've heard they have the best steaks on the planet . I guess that's a silly reason to go, but I could easily eat my way across the world .
