Beautiful tennis of Carla lost  but at least she was shown on tv.I think she was affected too much by the heat

I was so sure CSN was going to be a great player after her form at AO, but she's yet to prove herself

Bероника
Aug 18th, 2009, 09:28 AM
Carla has been having problems with her elbow,I'm not saying this is the cause of her bad results but it certainly has not helped her.Other thing that is preventing her to improve faster is sometimes she's not agressive enough, when she has the game to do so and beautifully. But I think Carla's style of play takes more time to fall into place and mature. Her time will come. She's too talented not to.It's only her second year at full level on WTA tour. The year that follows her breakthrough is usually difficult for most players (I'm thinking for players like Szavay,or Cornet this year,or even Sveta in 2005).

Also she's really a sweet girl.Makes me sad to see her struggle

Its quiet in here today

Ive just got back from my first football training session before the season starts in September and I am dead

I hate having them 2 months off because all I do is eat drink, eat drink, eat drink and I go the gym like once or twice a week which is terrible

Ive made auto selection for the team this season due to such a fantastic season last year, sometimes if theres alot of girls for one position you have try outs for first team action but I got my spot straight away so Im a happy girl right now :D

Might have an ice bath in abit though to get my muscles ready for training again tomorrow :yeah:

Dorien.
Aug 18th, 2009, 07:55 PM
I have the feeling everybody disapear

That's good news :yeah:
An ice bath? I thought you had to take a hot bath :p

gdot
Aug 18th, 2009, 07:55 PM
hey congrats on being auto selected! is right midfield a pretty popular position at your team because when i used to play there was always 3 or 4 girls arguing over it  i used to play left back and keep out of their way.

isnt going back to training the worst. we used to have august off at swimming and going back in september was :tape: one year our coach made us do the same sets for 4 weeks to get back into it, i was not a happy girl!

i am in the weirdest bad mood today :(

An ice bath is best for aching muscles Dorien especially when I have the same training session again tomorrow  Id have a hot bath if I didnt have training for a few days to relax, but its right back on it again tomorrow lol

There are only 2 of us for Right Midfield Gem there used to be 3 but one girl left at the end of the season so we dont do try outs for my spot now as out of the 2 Im the better and more experience, not to blow my own trumpet :o

I thought maybe we would have a chilled session tonight to get our bodys back in to it but NOOOOO it was circuit training to warm up then we did the bleep test :help: I was seeing dots at the end of the session :lol::lol:

gdot
Aug 18th, 2009, 08:16 PM

i would miss athletics for mojitos too , saturday is my exam celebration day, cant wait! and i know you will kill me for this but vlasic is amazing! she reminds me of isinbayeva with her drama and actions (she did a dance :worship:) there was this awesome bit where vlasic was getting the crowd clapping for her when she was going for world record and had already won it, and all the other high jumpers joined in and friedrich had the best 'bitch' look on her face!! priceless.

She's taking Spanish in school :), just like Mom . I don't know all the details, but I'm sure they will go to the big cities. And if they happen to go to Valencia, well, you could meet yours truly ;).

She has a "test" on Friday; she has to recite the alphabet in front of the class :help::tape:. She's worried she won't make a good grade because she can't roll her R's and the N sound with the symbol above it is hard for her. I tell her that no one expects her to sound like a native speaker :).

I actually don't mind the draws too much...obviously Roger's is a beauty of a draw (on paper anyway, he still has to actually turn up & win). Actually think his draw is pretty straight forward til the sf which should be against either Roddick or Nole, neither of which I think would beat Roger at that point. The bottom half of the draw though is brutal

Women's draw I'm kind of meh about, it looks horrid when you list the players in the top half with Sveta but then (assuming she wins her early matches) she wouldn't have to play the bigger players til like the 4r, qf maybe, so I think she can definitely get to that stage unless she has a brainfart match somewhere along the way. But if she gets to like the 4r the players get really hard in that half. Then again I haven't looked at it in detail yet so I may be missing a few scary potential match ups for Sveta...glad Kim & Sam aren't in her half ;)

Honestly I don't think it's that bad of a draw for Sveta.I fear most the names on the other side.

Indeed, on days like this it is very good to be a Fed fan

I'd be worried for whoever it is that does make it through that bottom half because they are going to have had to battle against pretty much all the really dangerous guys round after round and that's only to reach the final! Would then play probably Roger (or maybe Nole, Roddick...I'll allow for a Fed upset :p ) & I think after just getting to the final whoever is in the final from the bottom half would have a tough time going on to actually win that final.

Those women's finals you said are some of the worst I can think about :tape: I seriously hope things will be a lot different.Well Zvonareva beating Safina I wouldn't mind but is so unrealistic going by Vera's results since she came back :tape:

Anyway I'm leaving for my holidays on 11th september so if Sveta makes it further than QFs I won't be able to follow or watch her,but on the other hand if Sveta makes it further than QFs my reaction will be :woohoo: :bounce:

fnuf7
Aug 28th, 2009, 09:57 PM
^ It would be great if she gets past QF (though not great that you couldn't see it)...in my bracket challenge thing I actually had Sveta down to get to the SF where she was beaten by Dinara (no idea what lead me to think that Sveta will reach SF based on current form or why Dinara would beat her there but there we go...I hope my random thoughts come true but with Sveta winning the SF instead :) ) I swear my bracket challenge thing was just total blind/crazy/possibly drunk optimism on my part, I had Sammy beating Serena at, I think, the QF stage, Kim beating Venus, Sveta making the SF, Pennetta getting to the final, Dinara winning the whole thing...I didn't even really want that final to happen but somehow my earlier picks left me with that option as a final.

I would laugh so hard if that is the final though, all the media that think Serena has it won already would have to swallow their words rather quickly (and I'd quite like for Dinara to finally win a slam as the #1...even if it's just the one slam, I feel sorry for her now that's she's lost so many finals & faces all these questions all the time  )

JJ sucks :(

no the other girl played really well. and she looks really normal without her shades  top half of the draw has really opened up, and safina isnt exactly stable right now even though shes like the only seed left in her quarter :help:.

also what the hell is wozniacki doing to her opponents to get them scorelines? i watched her before she just moonballed for an hour, didnt see her hit a single winner :o hope cirstea beats her.

Dorien.

I hope to see a 4th round Safina vs. Wickmayer :p

I did a wrong movement and my neck is sooo painfull now for already 20 minutes. I have really the feeling i can cry from the pain and i don't know what i have to do to stop it

you should go see a doctor Dorien.I hope it'll be less painful soon

I also hope Yanina can make it to 4th round. It would be first time for her, right?

dorien does your neck feel better now you slept on it? i think if not you should put something warm on it.

i love the bottom half of the us open draw now, all the 4th round matches look good :)
li can beat schiavonne
kim - venus, i just cant wait to watch either way
vera - flavia is going to be another great match, not bothered who wins
and ive got high hopes for hantuchova to keep it competitive against serena

the top half is anybodies, it would be great if yanina played safina

Dorien.
Sep 5th, 2009, 12:01 PM
It is still painful but i'm ok ;) I just try to not move too much :p

Yes, it is also the first time she reached a 3rd round.

Bероника
Sep 5th, 2009, 05:57 PM
That's a wise thing to do (not moving) but I'd still have someone to see it if pain doesn't get away in some days.

Bottom half is least interesting than top for me.I only like Vera and Venus from bottom half .On top half I have Sveta and also Nadia,Yaroslava... and the young players like Oudin or Wickmayer.I find it a lot more exciting.

im in a very good mood today so its not that long till sveta plays again. 17 days now or something?

im doing a countdown until the football world cup, 273 days!!! had the best day yesterday; england trashed croatia 5-1 and we qualified in style!! started back at college and it was just great to be back, love all my classes. went to the cinema, saw Dorian Gray (which is cheesy but fun and ben barnes was ) and i remembered how much i love the band The Hives so went and downloaded all their songs, oh and oudin was sent packing

Did we? I can only remember a countdown in off-season (for Sydney) and for the summer season as it was a month or more and see what happened: she got injured in Sydney and for the summer season she also got injured for LA and her summer season as a whole was less than stellar :sobbing:

pretty boring without vero over here.

I have a question just saw woznicrappy play tennis and she wears a watch why the hell does she wear a watch during a match with 2 big clocks on court.

Ziggy Starduck
Sep 12th, 2009, 03:01 PM
I came in before Mel and it was very quiet  I'm not sure why Caro wears a watch, maybe she's always worn it on-court and it's a ritual for her? I don't follow her game close enough to know whether she's worn one in the past

Dorien.
Sep 12th, 2009, 05:33 PM
Maybe it's just a sponsor from her or she just likes it. She wears it always i think.

fnuf7
Sep 12th, 2009, 09:08 PM
Think Justine used to wear her watch during matches too...think it is just a sponsor thing though & maybe it's just what the player themselves is comfortable with

gdot
Sep 12th, 2009, 11:01 PM
i think i would be tempted to break my watch when i got angry if i had to play with it on  it is probably a sponsor thing though, like rafa always puts his on after a match because his sponsor says he has to.

there is a russian in the junior girls US open final, yana buchina. she plays the british girl who isnt laura robson ;)

edit: i think there is a conspiracy against me in my house today, people are being too nice
