If they remain healthy and play to their potential for the remainder of the year they will be could be leading the $$ list very soon. What does the top career money list look like?

They will almost certainly be 1 and 2 in career earnings before long. Probably not this year but most likely next year.

ok you have to put it in context, prizemoney is so much more these days, i mean both williams will probably surpass graf this year in carrer earnings but aren't going to have better carrers. im sure maria will end up leading the rich list at some point if she plays tennis past 26 as with prizemoney going up all the time it takes less to achieve the total set by past generations.

still its nice they both are still around earning big money and also kind of freaky there so close in total prizemoney.

Venus has more money than Serena in endorsements.

People forget that Venus has been a millionaire since the age of 12. She was signed to a 12 million dollar a year contract with Reebok for several years before it going up to $40M. Serena's Puma contract was only for $2M a year.

Not only that, Venus had endorsement from other companies as well. And she and Serena both had contracts with Aavon, MacDonalds, and other companies. Plus Venus had so many bonuses as well.

Venus' interior design company has made millions of dollars designing high-end homes, and apartments, and new development sites. She also has the contract to design some of the olympic dorms where the players are gonna stay.

Venus is a very smart business woman. Tennis is just the avenue to give her the money to do other things.

But Miss Venus Ebony Starr Williams has been a multi-millionaire since the age of 12. It was reported about 5 years ago that Venus and Serena were worth or $500M back then with all of their endorsements, career winnings, and investments.

Those millions of dollars are making them millions more every year. That money isn't just sitting in the bank. They are reaping more money because their money is invested in so much stuff.

It's funny because Serena and Venus will soon pass Lindsay, Navratalova, and Steffi and they are only part-time players.

I wonder what Graf's total $$ would have been in today's market... Since the winner of the USOpen, etc got about 1.4 million in 07, her total would be astronomical. Also Navratilova's 100000 titles

But I'm glad to see Venus and Serena will eventually lead the $$ list, even if it is only for a few years if the money keeps growing in the WTA, which I hope it will :)

Now adjust all those historical winnings for inflation and you will see that Steffi and Martina earned probably twice as much as the WS.

wrong... Venus' deal was for 12 mil... but not per year... the 12 mil covered 4 years if i remember correctly... the 40 mil deal was also over the span of 4 years not per year... Serena's deal is 50 mil with Nike... Venus prolly does have more money than Serena based on she older, been at it longer... and her design company does better than Serena's line did I believe...

and no they arent worth 500M.... I dont even think Federer is even with his 100M deal with Wilson....

But anyways the hate is crazy here... yes clearly Inflation plays a role... I was merely stating they joined the club. Back in Feb i said Venus/ Serena/ Henin would all make it by the end of the year.... i was right about 2 of the 3.. too bad justine retired...

I would love to see it adjusted to inflation, just to see how much Steffi would have made by today's standards.

It s fair ( the prizemoney ) In the late 80 s , begin 90 s there was also less competetion, in womens tennis, for example i think if Graf played now she wouldn t won 22 GS titles, also Hingis won 3 GS in 97 i think ... if she played now she wouldn t win one.. nice list...
