They were all interesting in their own way.
I voted Wimbledon, just because my fav one. In terms of quality, the Australian. Fewer upsets so the big names played each other later which always makes the Slams more interesting.

The AO by far for me. But I'm completely biased. At least all the top ladies stuck around, and we had some really high quality tennis.

Wimbledon -
Most exciting tournament of the year;
My two faves made the final;
Venus won her fifth Wimbledon title;
They both won the dubs;
It was full of dramatic upsets;
It gave us a new and exciting face, Zheng Jie;
Marat made the semifinals; and
Nadal beat Federer.

Wimbledon- Elena reached the SF, Nicole reached the QF, Marat reached the SF, Nadal beat Roger in the final, Masha lost in second round and many more great moments :)

Wimbledon - Venus won her fifth title and won the doubles with Serena, Rafael beat Roger on Roger's best surface AND at his most beloved tournament...would have preferred that he had done it in straight sets, but a dramatic five-set win is even more satisfying.

Trouble with the Australian was there was only one competitive match from the quarters onwards. Problem with the French was the 3 set matches from the qf on were choke-fests. Problem with Wimbledon was it ended up being a complete procession.

I do think though the most quality tennis was played in Australia, and it has the final 4 I found the most interesting.

I chose between RG and AO,but i vote from australian open,because daniela reached first grandslam semifinal there and she was very closed to grandslam final...

Australian for sure. But Wimbledon had the best mens final.

Are there any players in this forum who might be interested in getting involved with a tennis site?

This is a dumb thread!!

We already know what people are going to say :lol:

I say AO.

That slam was exciting all the way through and the matches were high quality!

YEAH RIGHT!! WIMBLEDON!

GO WILLIAMS?1!!1!!

We can all safely say Roland Garros sucked as usual!

Jul 7th, 2008, 11:31 AM
AO, for me obviously because the good Maria showed up.
If along with the WS Masha and Ivanovic went further in the tournament, then I would say Wimbledon. But the supposedly top 2 players losing to players like Zheng and Kudryavtseva?! It made the tournament look crap.

Wimbledon. I went to Roland Garros for the first time and loved it - I prefer going to Roland Garros than to Wimbledon. But Wimbledon this year had better matches.

RG because we had a fantastic all-Serbian semifinal battle for the number 1 spot, Safina broke through saving match points in back-to-back matches, we had the most competitive RG final in years, we had two players contending for their first GS in the final, we had the crazy schedule because if the RG rain gods determined to outdo Wimbledon...and what else? Oh yeah, my fave won. :bounce:

Definitely Wimbledon.

At the AO, IVANOVIC was in the final and DJOKOVIC won the tournament. :mad:

At RG, IVANOVIC won the tournament. :mad::mad::mad:

At Wimbledon, Elena and Jie made the semis :hearts: and IVANOVIC and DJOKOVIC lost early. :drool: Also Henin kept her #1 ranking against all odds. :bowdown:
