1st Round against Cirstea.
Then Koryttseva or Rus. A QF against Dementieva will be really tough.

I'm actually really scared how Maria will handle the change between clay and grass in 1 or 2 days.
I'm not sure how good Cirstea is on grass, but I hope Maria can fight through.

That draw looks okay. Dementieva will be tough, but I don't know if she likes grass much.

Like you I'm worried about all the clay tennis. Watching today, I'm not really sure what she gains by playing on clay. There's a lot of hitting on the baseline and the court takes the pace off the ball. Maria has a game that could do well on grass, if she's coached right. She took Jankovic to 3 sets last year, so I'll try to be optimistic.

Cirstea has a big serve and huge groundstrokes. She was overpowering Ana Ivanovic in the Aussie Open. Inconsistent though.

Best of luck, Maria. :) I like both players so may the best girl win. Hopefully Maria though.

Well it's not going to be easy, switching from clay to grass. Good luck Masha. Sorana is a tough first round opponent but she's had some pretty awful losses lately.

Obviously it`ll be interesting to see how well Makiri can adjust to making the change from clay to grass. Still i think that she`ll do well in Rosmalen this week. BTW i`m very happy to see that she and Flavia will be teaming up for doubles again in Rosmalen. :D

Too bad, if you could have come earlier you could stay with me.

What's the reason you are going to visit my lovely country?

Investigating your football facilities and youth coaching methods. Poland is third world in these issues. :o

And Holland is the best I would say. The youth is great, you can look at all young players what they have achieved.
We have 3 coaches at the EC!

Well to get back to the tennis. I'm a bit worried about Cistera. She a young up-and-comer. She may not have much experience of grass though.

I'm not too sure a long week would be ideal for Maria here. She doesn't want to be burnt out for Wimbledon. I'm still wondering if i might try to go there myself.

With Cirstea you never know. She's talented and can give many top players a tough match.
But also shes's double bagelled twice in a very short time.

Maria has the game to do well on grass. She is much better suited to it than clay.

I'm still planning to go to Wimbledon, but this worries me.

Disappointing loss today. At the same time it`s not much of a surprise since Makiri didn`t have much time to prepare on the grass. Hopefully she`ll do much better in doubles with Flavia.

I heard about it today when Eric got a phone call. I wasn't sure if it was about them, but I heard that someone forgot.
And that he has to leave tomorrow.

It was a shitty day or actually week.
Today I had to be in Eastbourne, but no Ana so I choose for Maria.
I missed 1 train and had to pay for a Taxi cause the busses were still on strike. Just in time to see Maria.
It wasn't all that bad what Maria showed, but too defensive and looked for the dropshots too often.
She also played serve volley 2 points at 0-15. But got the ball back before she was on the service line. Cirstea had a lot of good passing shots today. She had tough losses lately, but today she was very good.
I hate to lose so I tried to give Maria as much support as needed.
She actually gave it away it game 6 of set 2. If she broke there then it could turn the match.
She saved a nice MP at 3-5 and then 2 awesome DTL winners to make 15-40. It was not enough and someone said I looked more dissapointed than Maria herself. Can't be true of course.
But it looks like she's not that upset about it. Didn't go off court directly and also sign and had time for fans after the doubles match.

I don't know if the have to play qualies soon now, cause Pennetta is injured. A positive thing can be then that she has more time for singles.
Anyway, I mostly want to leave as soon as possible when Ana or Maria loses. Now I waited for the doubles, but I don't care much about it.

We took revanche for Maria to beat Romania with 2-0 but I rather saw Maria winning.
Maybe I see her again this year but then she has to go to Zurich.
Good luck for Wimbledon!!

PS: She can go to 18 if Srebotnik doesn't win Rosmalen.
And Petrova may not reach the final in Eastbourne.

I visited the Ordina Open on Sunday 15th. Unfortunatly for me Maria was playing the Barcelona Final at that time. Nice win and 4th title :)
Too bad she lost in the 1st round and also in the doubles with Flavia.
Hopefully she will do well at Wimbledon.
