When Justine switched at the beginning of the year to her new raquet: http://img.tennis-warehouse.com/big/KTOURM-big.jpg she has had dismal results!

Go back to the ntour! :)

I did not know she changed to a new raquet. If so, that makes sense. It takes time to get used to new equipment. Did she change for more money from her sponser?

Please. Switching rackets five months ago is not a valid reason for her poor level in Berlin.

I think it's the hideous new outfit. She always played better in athletic cut fits.

Stop talking out your backside, she's had a paintjob on the recquet nothing else.

The reason she's in a slump is because she's finished as a force in women's tennis, she was lucky to dominate a weak era and now the tour is getting stronger she's been left behind.

If it were the racket Justine would know and so would Carlos. They would have gotten rid of it.

Don't they just keep their old rackets and get them repainted anyway ?

I think she should dump that blue dress she's wearing this year and revert back to the pink one.

Not only it's her "lucky dress", but the blue one makes her stick out like a sore thumb on court....

Let me get this straight. 2007 was a "weak era" and in 2008 the "tour is getting stronger." :haha:

Couldn´t agree more... But Davenport also switched to K Tour and had a good season so far, so you can´t blame on the racket!

that's actually not true because most players keep their old rackets and just get them painted like the newer models, SUCK IT SLUTS

She hasn't switched racquets. She's been using the same Wilson stick all of her career, it's just been painted to look like the newer ones that Wilson comes out with. It's the same with pretty much all pros.

Thank you for the voice of reason. Do most people really think that pros change racquets every season to match the new release of the brand they play with? Now really, people, does this make sense to you?

No change of racquet. Not this year, not any year prior to this. Same old racquet out there, just new problems for Justine.

Oh...but I actually think she did change it, the sound the ball makes off her racquet sounds different. I liked the old sound much better.

It may have had adverse effects on her game, since the old one was a bit different. Check it out on Tennis Warehouse, it's gone from even balance to head heavy. Did it affect her game? Maybe.

Considering Lindsay changed her racquet, Ana changed her racquet and many more changed theirs, if Henin can't adapt then that is a big problem for her.

It could be that she switched to this racquet:

http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2927119&cp=2367823.2792638.2792642.695065&cp=2367823.2792638.2792642&fbn=StorePrice%7CUnder+%2425.00&fbc=1&categoryId=3071105&fr=StorePrice%2FDSP%2F00000000%2F00002500&parentPage=search&searchId=27897602823

After the $20,000 fine, it's all she can afford.

Y'all didn't get it do you.....

Its all part of the show...
Justine wanted to win the Wimbledon Rosewater dish this year that her preparations for the SW19 showdowm starts so early....

First of all...
1.Justine doesn't want to give in her grasp of the RG crown inspite of eyeing Wimbledon, thus she plans on conserving energy by not playing much red-clay tune-up, after all she doesn't need red clay warm up since she knew too well that even with her other arm tied behind her back, she can still crushed her opponents in RG!
2. She need a good reason to withdraw from Rome, a defeat in Berlin caused by fatigue) would be a perfect excuse....
3. She will play RG, win it, rest for a week then play Eastbourne, then play Wimbledon for a win! = <20 matches in 2 1/2 months... NOT BAD!!!!

I don't know about rackets and switching them... parhaps it is a factor, but it can't be the only reason. I think it is normal to be in a slump once in a while. Point me to a player who was not in a slump ever in her career. It doesn't mean she is finished, unfortunatelly we can't predict if she will get out of it. All I know is that she's got what she needs to be back at her best.

Whatever, she is in a slump which is not unusual for any top player. Hopefully, her problem is mental rather than physical. If she wins Paris, and or Wimbledon, her season will have been a success. Please Justine, do NOT play Eastbourne!
