Fixed price In Rome: 11/05/2008
Always wounded, Amélie cannot defend its chances for the tournament of Rome and decides to be withdrawn...

Amélie: "echography that I passed yesterday revealed that there was always a lesion of 2 millimetres who am without any doubt the cause of the pains that I feel. In spite of some tests carried out yesterday after midday racket in hand, the pain is always too sharp and is likely to worsen with the efforts. As of my return we will discuss with Loïc to decide continuation of the program. Normally, from here a few days all should have returned in the order and from there, I will be able to decide what is best for the two next weeks. Priority being well on not mortgaging my presence with Roland Garros too early by taking again the competition! "

get well soon Amé!

I taught myself Dutch already, and now I'm learning some Czech & Italian, so yeah - I could learn, but it's not high on my list.

Bammer becomes the 18th seed and takes Momo spot in the draw....
A Q/LL was take her spot and so Vaidisova plays a Q/LL first round instead.

Don't rush back just to play RG, Amélie.

You might ruin your chances of playing on grass! :help:

I'm really starting to get the feeling that this is going to be Amelie's last year on tour, if not at the AO next year.

She should get healthy and forger RG as, especially in her present form and condition, she is not going to win there this year. If she gets really fit, she could do very well at Eastbourne and Wimbledon.

I agree.

But RG counts alot for the frenchies.

She should withdraw just like Golovin did, imo.

Next time, cover yourself up on the plane, Amélie! :o
