I don't know what to think of this match : promising or disappointing?
A bit of both I guess, Marion showed how fragile she is ATM but her level seems to be improving. Now she can make decent showings against tough players (Davenport, Zvonareva & now Agnes). I hope she keeps believing in herself, she can do better than that.

Congrats Agnes!

Why shouldn't she reach the final there again? Everyone seems to think she'll go out very soon. Not going to happen.

Yihaaaaa, Agi :bounce: This is the third QF in a row, two of them are TIER1. :yeah: Slumptime is over (or at least on pause  ). Now, do your best agains Ana.

Congrats to Marion. This is the second tournament where she played quite well. I know loosing never feels good, but her form (and shape ) is getting better and better, which is a good sign this close to Wimbledon.

Ági always shouts 'Gyerünk!', which means 'Come on'! The pronunciation is dje-rünk. The other thing that she says 'Ezaz!', which means 'That's it!'

not really choke...
Ági said on the radio, she used on-court-coaching 2 or 3 times and changed her gameplay during the match, cause Marion had several injury timeouts.

Being up 5-2 in the 1st set (having a set point) and being up 4-2 in the second set and not winning the match is a choke to me, especially the 1st set.

And who is playing good? Henin, Kuzny out, Ana was terrible. Serena? I didn't see her against Rad but I saw her in the previous round, and she was :help:.

So the important thing is to win. Who cares if she plays bad then. ;)

you are just SO wrong.

I'm glad Agi is progressing. Further crow for all the people dismissing her in early '08. :wavey:

But Serena is clearly the overwhelming favorite now. She walloped Franny in the first round and used clay-court smarts to do it. Her scoreline against Radwanska hints things haven't changed much.

I'd love to see a Szavay-Serena final, even if it was a romp for Serena. One match at a time though.:D

No, I'm not. I saw that match, and Serena wasn't good at all. Today, she was a different player, but by watching the highlights, I think this match was one of those when everything worked for one player and nothing for the other. Serena simply killed Aga's poor serves, while Aga has initially chosen the wrong tactics and never changed it. She continuously tried to compete with Serena in hitting, and as a result, Ree simply shot her off the court. Aga should have at least tried to use moonballs, long sliced backhands, etc. I'm really looking forward to see what Dinara can do against Ree, b/c she has a good serve and if she's on she can play smartly.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to deny the obvious. In fact, I think Ree is the one to beat since Miami. I'd just like to see her against a good and clever player who chooses the right tactics, before declaring her to be unbeatable ;)

I wouldn't way Ree was ":help:" as you put it, during the Franny match but she was MUCH better against Radwanska. A big difference. She played well in both matches though.
