Smash Court Tennis 2 is good, except for the fact that you can play through the career mode and get to number one without losing a match.

Usually I'll lose one or two near the start of my career when for example, the task will be 'fight back from 15-40 to win the game'
and my opponent is Davenport or Mauresmo. Basically you can lose an entire match because you were aced once. But in full matches, like in exhibition mode, it's possible not to drop a point on the hardest settings. So for me, the novelty wore off fairly quickly.

Yep I just play it non-stop. I've made so many players in career mode (my Venus is unstoppable :hearts:) and I use them against the other players in exhibition mode all the time.

You get to play a whole set if you get to the final. :bounce:

Smash Court Tennis 2 as everyone else said. It's a very deep game and has some nice add-ons like the Davis Cup (which is very challenging if your character is Mexican, since your teammates will suck), the missions, and the training.

I enjoyed it a lot. Amazing game.

The Virtua Tennis series is way too arcade. The player will dive if the ball is more than 1 step from him, which can turn any match into an endless divefest. Ugh.

I made a Jelena and Ana. I love playing exhibition matches against Justine or Kim cause they are fast and have high stamina. So the matches go forever

what about virtua tennis 3???

That wasn't released on the ps2. VT2 was though but that isn't a very good game - not much depth at all.

yeah, but its insanely easy on normal mode and you play first to 3 games most of the time. Mission mode, it's a little harder, but still wish the game was a lot harder.

Bought WTA Tour Tennis the other day, recommended on this forum, so hopefully should come in the mail next week

I like doing a lot of flat shots and running around at the start of the exhibition matches so my stamina gets really low. The it becomes more of a challenge

I agree Smash Pro 2 is the best. In my opinion, its the closest to the real thing. I challenge anyone to that game. I'm like 220-20 in that game lol. I have 4 created characters. My Venus and Sharapova kick ass. Anyone in the North NJ or Ny area want to challenge me by all means let me know Im game!!! lol

I hope you bought the right WTA Tennis game - not the one with a pic of Dokic on the cover.

yeah, i checked quite a few times, sounds like a good game. i want a tennis game that can be quite diffcult and as well as having a relaistic career mode, for some reason tennis games don't like doing that

Smash Court 2. Hands down.

And if you can get WTA Tour Tennis (PAL Version) that's apparently a good game too. Just not the one with Dokic on the cover, that one sucks.

Smash Court 2 is amazing, I still play it to this day. However, if you can get your hands on it, (Ebay and such) Sega Sports Tennis (Sega Tennis 2K2 for Dreamcast) was extremely good too. The best part was, you could build your custom character into a God, then try to beat him with your favorite player. And that was EXTREMELY difficult. I used to love my Kafelnikov/Rafter vs. my custom character battles. At least that way, there was a perpetual challenge in the game, it never got too east. I never could beat my created characters on Sega Sports Tennis.

Of course, but I'd rather lose one or two matches out of 100 by default than not drop a single game ;)
