OMG dude. You are comparing with 3 years ago? Henin wasn't exhausted back then, she was younger, she revived easier. This year she won't be sweeping anything besides losses.

I am, I like her game, but not her. I never did. Plus I have the feeling that Henin gave herself too much last year, and she doesn't have much left for this year. She's gonna play about 5 tournaments less this year. And we all know she needs to get her rhythym going on other surfaces than clay. Plus I think Serena / Jelena Jankovic / Maria Sharapova will be causing the losses.

come on...justine had a few bad losses...that doesn't necessarily mean that she isn't the same player anymore...every player's got a time in his/her career which is kinda slump, but i think if she gains back some of her confidence she's still a force to reckon with...still safina will be a tough test for her, we'll see

Well I just have this feeling that she won't be having a good year. My instinct is hardly ever wrong. I don't wish her a bad year, you know, I love her to be in a good shape, to have awesome matches with Venus or Serena. It's not a problem of confidence, It's the law of nature.

She said herself that her body is slowing down, she has more aches after each match than last year. We all know that Henin doubts herself sometimes.

yeah i think it's a mix of mental and physical issues...once i said she isn't the most confident player and got bad responses for saying that, but i think her confidence comes from winning matches and if you look at her on court when she watches over to rodriguez several times with that despaired look on her face you get the impression that she's not as menatally tough as you thought she is...i don't really know about her physical problems, but i think maybe if she starts winning some important ones she gains back confidence and her problems turn out to be just psychogenic

Lots of nice theories.

It's a shame that Justine hasn't been able to play her best this year, but she's still won two titles and I hope her game comes out in full force on the surface she's most comfortable on. I honestly feel that she won't have too much trouble with Dinara, but the one thing that I always notice when her game breaks down is that she always double faults on the most crucial points of the match. I hope we don't see that tomorrow and I wish her luck for the rest of the tournament.

 Dinara is a great claycourt player. If Dinara was ever going to be competitive with Justine, it was going to be on red clay. Has everyone already forgotten when she beat Clijsters, Dementieva, and Kuznetsova in Rome '06?

Their only tight match prior to this was on the green clay, so the fact Justine is being pushed isn't really surprising to me. She'll probably still win anyway.

She's giving herself the trouble anyways.

She plays too much to Dinara's backhand, where she gets owned most of the time.
She plays way too passive, which means more time on court, means more time for knee to hurt.

Justine is just not on the court  since I have started to watch the match at 7/5 2/0. It seems she cannot hit the ball behind the serve square. No confidence at all. :o

Safina plays really well on the other hand, with high balls on Justine's backhand.

No bagel, Justine just won a game.
