Damn. Justine had one of the easiest 2nd Round matches. I was hoping that she'd play a better claycourter (i.e. someone like Schiavone) so that we could get a sense of where her game is.

Yeah. Peng and Amanmarudova are higher-ranked and very dangerous, and they went to the Serbs. One of the toughest possible, Schiavone, went to Serena, who promptly beat her up. Very tough Azarenka went to Chakvetadze and Chaky choked. Castano is on form, and she's for Kuznetsova to deal with. This 2nd round is the easiest for Henin.

But good win to get her confidence back. First bagel for ages (I mean a bagel she served, not got stuffed with).

exactly the same here!! Indeed, shame on ES! :o :o Furthermore, yesterday they promised and said they would show the 3 matches in a row, that is live! All of a sudden, right after Ana's match they switched to the NON-LIVE snooker final for the MILLIONTH time :fiery::fiery::fiery::fiery::fiery:
Since 2006 ES can't be trusted anymore. Teletext :o:o:fiery::fiery:

Well, here in Europe we don't (don't know Britisch ES however) because of what caused our :fiery: and :o. At 18.00 they'll show, that is about 50 min.

It's weird seeing Justine on the giving end of a bagel

Na just kiddin, great stuff, watching it now! I wonder how many winners she hit!

Chan did play some nice shots but Justine was too much.

I also which Justine had a little bit of a test. It would be interesting to see what she could to to some1 like Fran but i guess this is all the indication we need

I think she would have had her way with Fran too. Fran wasn't in any good form to speak of.

I shall tell you in a sec ;)

Watching it now!

Chan has some potential because before Justine has the chance to attack she has to come from behind and i hope that is something Serena exploits if they both get there.

Chan played some very good shots in the second!

She was pumped? Oo I miss her so much and wanted to see her. She did say she has the intensity which she would like to keep for the whole week. She loves her some clay.

MrSerenaWilliams
May 7th, 2008, 06:55 PM
It's clay. Honestly, if she lost more than 5 games, I would have been :scared:

Justine has never struggled with lower players, it's the top ones that have given her trouble this year.

Justine's won (including today's win)
1 6-0 set
3 6-1 sets
12 6-2 sets

and she's 16-1 to players out of the top 10

Good win, but I'll wait until she plays someone who can actually compete against her before I say she's back.

However, this could have gotten REALLY ugly, so :yeah: Congrats Justine :bounce:

^what?? Did you not see/read about her matches in Belgium or even Doha? She's been struggling all yr. It is a credit to her that even won any tournies!!

She's never had a scoreline like this before this yr. clay or not. (She doesn't frequently get this kind of score on clay). Not only that she seemed to have played well in this match and not just a matter of her opponent being really bad. Her serve, the penetration of her strokes, the way she set up the pts. etc.

Of course a more seasoned/skilled opponent will be the best test for her, to test her consistency and mental fortitude.
