Amazing second set from Jelena :) She only lost 3 points on her serve.
Slow start though...she's gotta work on that!
Justine and Ana were watching her play

Well done Jelena.:D:kiss: Nice and solid, a little bit of trouble in the first but an easy second set, because Peng just gave up completely.
Keep it up Jelena.

GO JJ:bounce:

Shaky start. I was scared there for a while. But she pulled through, with a bagel to boot, so I'm happy

Peng played really well in the 1st set. JJ was very aggressive but she was missing some shots because Peng was really fighting out there. In the second set the fight was gone for Peng, JJ didn't need to go for too much, she was calm and won easily.

Keep it up, JJ!

Great finish from Jelena ;)
Will her troubles against Chinese players end?

She's starting to work the Chinese double-handers out.

That fine line between defense and attack, and occasionaly mix it up.

PS: I thought her record was far wqorse against the Chinese girls, but she's 12-7.
I guess that's a little weird considering she's more accomplished than all of them combined though...

Jelena :yeah: She said after the match she was nervous and it was her first red clay match of the year. She adjusted to it pretty well.:)

It was a normal solid win. Nothing amazing. Peng was mental down and threw the match away from the beginning of set two.

After the break from Peng to 4:1 in 1st set I said to me: "JJ get the re-break and win this set 6:4" - or something else. It was so sure, women tennis and the JJ fighting spirit. Jelena wasn't in this moment nervous like in the first minutes but Peng was completely down...

This match was never in doubt, for some reason it was obvious to me that Peng would choke in the first set  Sluggish start but the finish was great :yeah:

Really? I didn't notice that. (I started watching in the 2nd set) That makes sense; she is one of their top contenders out there. Carlos and I think Henin was watching Ana-Akgul.

ugh for fuck sake Shuai, your fans are getting sick of this now

Aren't you a fan of her? Surely you would feel for her if she loses, instead of bashing her for choking? I don't think you're being a very nice fan. If you're tired of her mental breakdowns, then don't support her.

Sounds like a typical day at the office. JJ takes Shuai's best shot but grits it out, then cruises when her opponent mentally gives up.

What could Ana & Justine possibly want to see? They both own JJ

Hopefully JJ can finally find a little consistency in her game at this tournament or soon, but I have my doubts.
