No, no, she's hasn't returned, but I thought I'd give a little update on 'Queen' Dechy's status, she once was friend to the stars and living in the lap of luxury, but that was when she was ATC's #1, now, she has resorted to writing the logos on tennis balls to be used in my tour just to make ends meet - oh dear. How the mighty have fallen. Fear not though, we're a charitable bunch, so this week instead of a player of the week ('cos I can't think of anyone :spit:) The players of the tour have come together to make a charity donation of the week, of $40, to you Ms. Dechy, all the best :hug:

Mashona Washington gives a little fist pump after defeating fifth-seeded Amelie Mauresmo in the quarterfinals of the Pilot Pen Tennis Open.

Mashona Washington has found herself in her second straight semi-final after she stunned fifth-seeded Amelie Mauresmo in a tough triple setter: 7-6(4), 5-7, 6-2. Washington who is the last American standing, will next face second-seeded Tamarine Tanasugarn.

"I feel great about my win over Amelie. She's a tough competitor and she's one of the best players on tour, so of course it's a huge confidence booster to beat her."

In the second set, Washington lead 5-3 and squandered 2 match points and allowed Mauresmo to fight her way back into the match by winning 4 straight games to take the second set 7-5.

However, Mauresmo's comeback was cut short in the third when Washington dominated the opening games of the set and took a huge 4-0 lead. Both women held service to finish off the match with the American winning 6-2 in the third set.

"My lapse in the second set was nerves. I was trying to close out the set at 5-3 and was up 40-15 with 2 match points, meanwhile Amelie just started to play a whole lot better. She just started unleashing winners everywhere and it was confusing because for the whole match I had been in the lead and out of nowhere she just starts kicing my ass."

Washington struggled with unforced errors, especially in the second set when she hit 14 and had only 9 winners. Overall she had 34 winners to 32 unforced errors with 4 aces to 0 double faults.

"I definently need to work on tightening up my game, especially when errors start pouring off my racket. I'm pretty happy with this win and I take on Tammy next, she's in good form so I'm just going to go out there and play my best and see what happens."
