I have vague memories with Venus sliding, so I think there most be some similarities with both girls being so tall?

Maria looks so akward sliding. I mean, I probably look more graceful doing it and im a 6'3 90 kg fella!

Of course Sharapova is sliding more, Venus hasn't played a single clay match this year.

Venus has found it much easier to slide a lot more!!!! Sharapova's getting there, but only because the clay court is wet and she felt more comfortable sliding in this Amelia Island final!

Dumb question.

Just look at the clay court titles/matches/experience and you'll clearly see Venus is better at sliding.

that's not the question, he was saying how she is more experienced than Maria on clay, so she would be better than her, so stop being stupid:p

Venus i noted this is Sharapova's match today... she was sliding in the start of the match (sometime even when she didnt need to (prolly cause its a new thing and you know how kids are with new toys) but once domi broke back and got to 3-3 sharapova didnt slide for the rest of the match... clearly she doesnt have the confidence yet.

How can you put words in someone else's mouth? This is what he said.

"Just look at the clay court titles/matches/experience and you'll clearly see Venus is better at sliding."

And what I'm saying is that there are plenty of better sliders with worse records (European defensive players, easily). And experience isn't a barometer for how well someone slides either. Alize Cornet and Cibulkova both slide better then Venus or Maria ever will and they are just 18.

PS, be careful about throwing the word "stupid" around when you're the idiot who broadcasts their ridiculous predictions, ie, picking Maria's opponent for every match she plays :weirdo:

An example of Venus sliding:

That match was pretty good.. I wish Venus would play and move like that more often on clay.

why are you arguing, like seriously Maria rarely slides and Venus has been sliding well for years
that's how i interpreted what he said, and stop bringing other people into this thread it's about Venus and Maria, not Domi and Alize, Venus is more experienced on clay and is a better slider:shrug:

That seemed like the obvious answer to me as well. As much as I love Venus, I will believe she will play on clay this year when she plays a match in Rome or Paris. She is struggling with her health and I have a feeling she will put all of her effort into defending her Wimbledon crown, and if she is 100% going into the grass she has a fantastic chance to do that.
AND...please give credit where it is due. Maria didn't face the toughest field at AI, but she still won her 1st tournament on clay and defeated Cibulkova, who has been one of the hottest players on tour.

lol or maybe shes just resting herself up for a RG/ Wimbledon double... I think you should read her latest blog....

And please credit to maria for winning her first clay title, but lets not delude ourselves she didnt beat anyone in the top 20....

A better comparison would be Lindsay v. Maria. I don't remember the last time Lindsay slid on clay.

Maria moves like a cow, Venus is a gazelle, even on clay, Venus is way better... really a ridiculous comparisson.
