Excellent work Chia-Jiung! I am really happy about this win.

Chia-Jung was a promising junior and a quality singles player, but her ranking got so low that she has more or less been ignoring her singles career as to follow Yung-Jan Chan in their successful doubles pairing. I hope she can win a match in the main draw, that would be such a feat for her. 417 in the world is clearly not were she belongs, obviously she makes good money out of doubles, but hopefully, in winning a match in the main draw, she will have the spark she needs in her singles career.

SATURDAY REPORT

Chuang def. Yonemura 62 46 61

- I only saw the first part of Chuang/Yonemura in the second set. Chuang couldn't keep a ball in, and Poutchek was complaining about Chuang's shot selection/level of hitting of the ball. Really bad set, but when I came back NEARLY an hour later, it was 45 in the second. Too bad I didn't see her when she won any games.

New addition: there's a Russian player watching Chuang and Yonemura, and I asked her if I could ask her who she is, and she said no, then laughed to her friend while her friend gave me a bad look. She had a ponytail. I'm not sure who she could be...

(I eventually found out it was Tatiana Poutchek, I figured it out when I asked to myself, "Why would a player watch another player play?" She was scouting and will play Chuang tomorrow. I hope bitch gets her ass beat.)
Btw,clay's Chuang's favorite surface.

Same situation that Tiantian Sun is in.

Congrats Chai-Jung. How long til she comes up with her "Western" name? :p

You got that right. When I heard Poutchek bitching to her friend about Chuang "just pushing ball," along with how she talked to me, I really really really wanted Chuang to win. And she did. :clap2:

Great job, Chia-Jung. You were terrible from what I saw against Yonemura, but it was just a lapse of concentration, I'm sure.
