Two of my favs meeting in the SF... No doubt whoever wins it will be the underdog in the final.

This time I wasn't as sure about Dominika's win as I was yesterday when she played Chakvetadze, but she didn't disappoint. Now beat Cornet and make the final, it's hardly impossible. I knew she would make it far when I saw the draw.

Just added Domi to my siggy which is a great honour considering the last player I added to it was Jankovic over 2 years ago :lol: Taken a keen interest in her since she beat Vee in Doha. Just love how plucky she is and there is something really likeable about her character too.

She's going back to Europe, then playing Fed Cup in Japan. So Berlin is her next tournament. I wish she'd play some smaller tournaments, too, but I don't think she can with her Gold Exempt status :(

actually there were a few of us who when the draw came out said domi had a great chance to reach the final. I know myself, Lunaris, and Downtheline said it for sure. Sooooo glad Domi has risen to the occasion and played the tennis we knew she was capable of. :drool:

Bitterly disappointing result from Amelie. The draw had really opened up for her and let's face it, neither Sharapova nor Davenport are any great shakes on this surface, so Amelie of two or three years ago would have been favourite for the title.

The problem for Amelie is that she is not going to get back to the top 10 if she cannot beat the likes of Cibulkova. This was an easy draw - she will probably have to beat a couple of top 20 players even to get this far in Berlin!

Having said that, the Radwanska win was progress of sorts and let's hope she can take confidence and build on that rather than this disappointment.
