Today I saw a call from winning which characterised Maria during the Aussie Open or just recently, in Estoril. She was fighting seriously and deserved this victory over Mama Lindsay. The most important thing is that she's got reason to smile...

Have we seen the same match? ;)
Maria and Lindsay both took this game easy, they didnt play with 100% commitment. Which is obvious in this kind of tournaments.
And in the end it was Maria who had little more desire to win, and took the game :)

In the second match of the day we saw much more serious fight.

PS. I'll post some pics tomorrow, im too lazy to connect my camera to PC right now;)

Many interested events on Warszawianka. I see you guys (and Nikkie) don't know what are happening at the moment. Little schedule of Maria from three days and for two last days:

Wednesday:
13cet match against Lindsay, then press conference, autographic session, sponsor duties and interview for TV;
17 cet Am-Pro tourney won by Maria and Zygmunt Solorz-Żak, Polsat chairman. Two tiebreak minimatches in mixed doubles: semi against Jelena and final against Marta.

Thursday:
13 cet practice with some guy (Pole propably): focused on service and return;
15 cet match against Sveta with break when "little" shower falled from air
night Players' Party in unknown place (propably Igor has already been in Warszawa)

Friday:
13 cet autographic session
15 cet mini football with Igor, Eric, Sveta, coach Ortega and three other guys - a lot of fun
16 cet practice with Igor (a lot of fun again: Eric said he's a coach when Igor had tried to show Maria how to hit backhand :lol:; Eric once again joked that Igor thinks everything he is doing is just luck when coach stopped ball on the racket ;) or encouraged Igor to hit the ball heavily as he is man not woman or to pass the ball into "middle of the middle" and last but not least when Igor bet with Eric about something I didn't understand for 1000 euro); generally Igor and Maria were joking about Eric in Russian...
when Eric finished his job physio coach developed some exercises with heavy ball
; in fact I made only two last games of Isia - Lena match :p

BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THAT MARIA WAS SMILING ALL THE TIME! Is there something more cute? :inlove:

Plan for Saturday:

13.45 Marta versus Maria. The most beatiful match Warszawianka would ever seen. :hearts:

1) Fantastic long May weekend in Warszawa for me. I forgot to take cable to my camera and all the shops are closed as we are celebrating in Poland so I can't get it before Monday. I'll post pics after arrival.

Oh, there is one more thing about Warszawa you might not know. It was interview on Day 1.

Tomasz Tomaszewski asked Makiri to name three best looking men players on tour. Maria was a little bit surprised but she honoured three guys:

3rd place: Roger Federer
2nd place: Marat Safin

and the winner is:

Igor Andreev!

She was also asked if she knew any Polish tennis players. She remembered that some doubles pair play and named Matkowski but his partner was too hard to utter for her (Fyrstenberg).

Reporter was shocked when she didn't know Wojtek Fibak, the greatest Polish tennis player ever. Fibak was impressed by her style of play but Makiri didn't comment that...
