Hey peeps

Im doing a sports feature and i just want to make sure what Kuzzie's record in finals is.

I have seen different figures.

Im sure her fans will know for sure.

I need her figures on the main wta circuit, no lower levels.

I know its not good.

I dont count default wins, so i guess that rules out her match with agnes a while back.

thank you!:)

Sveta now has a 'bridemaid's'syndrome, she cant shake of this this thing. She has been in a lot of finals but can not finish the job.Last year she lost at IW a title she should have won,Dubai is another one she should have won.She absolutely needs a sports shrink to sort out her lack in confidence. She hasnt won a title in a long time its really embarrassing for someone in the top five not to have won a title in such a long time.

Point taken ;)

One could argue, though, that one reason for Kuzzie's fall in the rankings was due to her final losses.

Her record since Beijing 2006 is 1-7 :o

On other hand 4 of her 9 career titles is (big) upsets - like 16/17 yo girl in same month when she go first time in TOP100 she beat in Bali final former slam winner and WTA#2 Conchita Martinez, like 18/19 yo underdog she upset in USO final Elena Dementieva which played career best tennis in that time, in first half of 2006 when she lose TOP10 status like WTA#14 she upset in Miami final Sharapova and that season Mauresmo played her career best tennis (2 slams and "WTA player of the year" award) but Svetlana upset her in Beijing.

So her career record in finals is very good actualy so far but her problem is in fact that last rounds till lucky draws "works" is semifinals .

maria sharapova had a pretty dismal 07 as the world number 2... maybe there's a russian curse if you're number 2, best to stay away from the very top!!!

Touche.

That is true. Most players would want a career where she often reaches finals than not!

Oh honey I love Sveta and Jennifer but are you really defending a Capriati who won 13 titles between 1990 and 2004?

Why bring Capriati here? The thread is about Sveta
And btw, it's Jennifer with 3 slams, not Sveta :p
