My Comments:

Zi YAN: The double handed bothsides from China was most reknown for her performance in double. She shows that her double skills help her to perform nicely in single too. At 23 y.o, she's breaking the Top 50 and overtaking Morigami and Peng to be the 2nd highest ranked double handed bothsides player (far away after Bartoli). Last week, she reached her 1rst Tour SF of the year at Bengalore Tier II $600K ousting 8th seed/n°29 Kirilenko and Top seed/n°4 Jankovic en route before falling to 4th seed/n°12 Schnyder.

Agkul AMANMURADOVA: The 6'3"big hitters from Uzbekistan definitively reached a new status this year. She's breaking the Top 70 this week after reaching the QF at Bengalore Tier II upsetting 5th seed/n°18 talented Szavay before losing to 4th seed/n°12 and eventual Runner Up Schnyder i a thrilling 3 sets match (7/6 in the 3rd).

FASTER MOVEMENTS IN THE TOP 10, 20 , 50, 100, 150 and 200

TOP 10:
Serena WILLIAMS n°9 (+2): For her 2nd appearance of the year after the AO, Serena was back to competition to support 1rst Bengalore Tier II $600K. She coudln't achieve better than she did as a champion winning the title. As 3rd seed/n°11, she ousted her beloved sister 2nd seed/n°7 Venus in a troumandous SF match (one set point saved- 7/6 in the 3rd) before taking the best over always dangerous 4th seed/n°12 Schnyder. Serena is back to the TOP 10!

TOP 20:
Agnes SZAVAY n°17 (+1): Agnes is back to her ever best ranking despite a current lack of confidence. Excepted a brillant final at the Open Gaz the France in Paris, Agnes is still trying to find her smart groundstrokes back. She was stpped in the 2nd rd at Bengalore Tier II falling to n°83 Amanmuradova. She really has to regourp if she want to stay in the Top 20 elite.

TOP 50:
Zi YAN n°43 (+11): see above.

TOP 100:
Olga SAVCHUK n°96 (+18): The 20 y.o ukranian is back to the Top 100 after a couple weeks out. She reached the 2nd rd at Bengalore Tier II losing to surprising eventual SF n°54 Yan. She's now 11 spots from her ever best ranking reached in february.

TOP 150:
Tzipora OBZILER n°103 (+14): Tzipora is up 14 places after making the 2nd rd at Bengalore Tier II losing to eventual winner 3rd seed/n°11 Serena Williams. The nearly 35 y.o veteran realized her best season last year finishing n°80 (best ranking n°75). She's been out of the Top 100 for a week now..and proved that she really wants to come back to that status.

TOP 200:
Barbora ZHALAVOVA STRYCOVA n°156 (+8): Barbora is the shadow of the player she was 3 years ago (around n°60). She's now competing on the 2nd level ITF circuit. Last week, she won Fort Walton Beach $25K taking the best over surprising american 17 y.o upcoming talent n°451 Oudin.
