With Coco and Asia both winning today, Maddy didn't want to be left behind! Nice work. :hatoff:

As far as I'm concerned, after those 3 losses and the way she got the wins this week, Karatantcheva is strictly in the journeywoman category until further notice.

Considering the current state of American women's tennis, today has to be about the most positive day for women's US tennis in several years. Seriously, if Coco, Asia and Madison don't go on to have good careers, the future of US tennis looks unspeakably bleak. I'm sure there are people who are involved in the future of US Women's tennis who will be pulling out the champagne tonight, in relief as much as anything.

So much for a thunderous comeback. I would call it a gentle breeze.

This makes Bovina's loss look bad. Sesil used to be a good player.

Agree, and I'd also include Melanie Oudin in your list, who had a great performance last week making a 25k final. Some promising signs indeed for young American players.

I disagree. The thunder was there, it's just that Brengle was wearing a hell of a lot of rubber today. :p

Luckily. :o

You drank it all.

Now the CH women's event is just a brew HaHa for the American fans.

So Sesil. No thunder.

But, hey, congrats to the girls.

Sesil is clearly saving her energy for the roulettes.

Sesil, Sesil, Sesil. This is but a minor setback on your irresistible march toward world domination.

I was hoping that if she took out Bovina, she would at least win a couple rounds in the Main Draw!:(

Nice win for Madison though after getting double bageled last week.

What the hell is wrong with Sesil? No offence to Brengle, but she was beating players like her in $25k's a few weeks ago and now she's losing.

I guess she's hit the first block in her comeback she needs to get past. :o

Sesil still hasn't won a main draw match outside of 25K tourneys.

And people were already predicting her to win this tournament

So Disrespectful
Mar 6th, 2008, 08:55 AM
She was out of gas after the second set, due to the qualies probably.

Sesil did well to qualify - the comeback at a higher level wont happen overnight.

I could be happier anyone who beats Sesil is a great player for me as I can't stand her. She's a loud mouth idiot.
