What should be the new surface...

- Indoor Ice...
*synthetic or real ice...players must play with a lot of tread in their shoes and you would have to move like clay but the bounce would be like hardcourts...

- Water...(i dont know if this will work)
*a hardcourt filled with 1 inch of water...players will have difficulty moving...the ball will bouce high when using topspin, but when you hit it flat it skips ( like skipping stones )

- Sand
*low bounce, slow...hard to find footing difficult to slide...

- Wood Panel...(sort of like floors)
*plays like hardcourt

- Mixed (Hardcourt, Clay, Grass, Carpet, and Rebound Ace)
*5 different surfaces all on one court...
One service box... clay
One service box... grass
Back Court...Hardcourt
Sides...rebound ace and the other carpet

Any others???

Ice would be the most fun because it would play as fast as hardcourts and the slide would be faster than clays so...
I would make my opponent run side to side until they slip or i would go for the dropshot and see them slide into the net...

Artificial grass comes to the mind first.

I know that in South Asia ( like India ) there are courts covered with dried and crumbled cow crap. Diving at net on those courts would be something special.

Playing on ice on skates is not out of question actually. But the net will have to be raised for at least a couple of feet for it to start making any sense.

they could play on trampoline's or the things that gymnasts do their floor exercise on...so the ball would bounce so high they would play overhead after overhead...

BTW ys, artificial grass is already invented. My town used to have it at the public courts. wood is a good choice.

Ice would rule! I'd love to see all the players skating after balls. Bit of a problem for the non-skaters though.........
