To the tune of 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia (If you don't know the tune itís a subdivided 4 count at about allegro) It's probably funnier if you imagine the Devil played by Richard Williams. Of course, that assuming its funny at all My only defense is it only took ten minutes.

The Devil Went Down to Melbourne he was lookin' for a soul to steal
He was in a bind, getting way behind, and lookin' to make deal.
He saw Capriati at OZ '02, and she was swing hot
But when she came off court, she was out of sorts, he said "Girl let me tell you what"

"Now you might not believe it, but I know tennis players, too.
And if you care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you.
Now, you play a pretty good tennis, girl, but give the devil his due.
I'll bet a racket of gold against your soul, I say my kid's better than you."

And Jenn said "#$%+@ old man, but killing you'd be a sin
I beat your brat in England and France and I say I'll beat her again."

Jenny string your racket tight and swing that forehand hard
'Cause Hell's broke loose in Down Under, and the devil deals the cards.
And if you win, you'll get this shiny racket made of gold,
but if you lose, the devil gets your soul...

The devil swung his arms out wide and he said I'll start this show.
Lightning rained on Scottsdale as Serena stole the show.
But then came Miami and Jenn said, "I've had enough of this"
But 7-5 7-6 later, all Jenn could do was hiss.

But then came red clay season, and Jenn said "I'm the one"
"Sit your ass down in that chair old fiend, and let me show you how it's done.

At Rome the first set, 6-2 Jenn
But Serena won, three sets again.
Roland Garros, Jenn's last chance.
Serena takes the title, Devil's gonna dance

Jenny cursed the heavens, cause she knew that she'd been beat.
The Devil stood there laughing in the Roland Garros heat.
He said, "Sister, you've got eternity, try once or try a million.
In Hell every semi-final for eternity you play Serena Williams"

At Rome the first set, 6-2 Jenn
But Serena won, three sets again.
Roland Garros, Jenn's last chance.
Serena takes the title, Devil's gonna dance

Um, wow. Volcana that kicked ass man. You did an excellent job of rhyming, etc. It was really, really, great. I'd love to here more of your 'renditions' of other songs as rivalries within the tour.:)

Volcana, Omg this is so cool.

I know the tune and song well, infact it is a classic country western song. Very good too, ya'll may want to download it. Has a great violin piece to it. Sung by the Charlie Daniel's Band.

Volcana this is good, your words went well with the song.

Me thinks even R-Dis can appreciate this humour.:)

Williams Rulez where do you live? One of two commercials. Country's Greatest Songs and Country's Greatest Story songs comes on several times a day and that's one of the songs. Well, at least it one of the better songs on the collection.
