And that person's name is Serena. She is the one that has unleashed a newly motivated Venus on the WTA. After that Wimbledon loss one had to know She would not take it laying down. Woe to the WTA, the old Venus is back!

Vee does seem to benefit from Richard's presence. Maybe he pushes her more than Oracene. But one thing is for sure, Venus needs to vent. So I guess she will vent on Davenport, Capriati, Clijsters, Henin, Seles.....etc. Folks are gonna be real angry at Serena. ;)

You may be on to something here, TS01,:wavey:

Heck, if Venus gets motivated and starts beating everyone including lil sis, then Serena will have to get motivated and elevate her game yet again, then

Venus will have to elevate hers even higher to beat Serena again, which will force Serena to push for ludicrous elevation and achieve it, then Venus will push hers even higher....(meanwhile all the other ladies are being forced to keep improving their game and fitness level so they can keep up with the sisters because they want to win too)...Hmmmmmmm.

You know, this motivation to win thing could be good for the whole women's tour! *duh, Ntosake, you're a genius to figure that out all by yerself :) :)

:wavey: Hi persond

People forget that Venus is just an "old fashioned " gal. So she is going about her business of handing out "Old Fashions"! ;)

Venus looks very motivated but it's not that before this tournament she played bad, it was just that she faced a very motivated serena twice who wasn't planning to give her anything:)

I am not so sure Irma. Venus this year has lost to players she just doesnot lose to. Seles, Testud, and Clijsters. She has struggled at times that has not been seen since 99. All three are good players but there were reasons why she had not lost to them. I believe her lost at Wimbledon, really hurt Venus and we all know what happens when she feels this way. We will know more after this week at the Acura. We could be witnessing 2000 and 2001 revisited. :)

That's right. Venus has been somewhat out of sorts this year. It's very similar to how she was before Serena won USO 1999. I think it's deja vu for the rest of the tour. They'd better watch out for what Venus will be presenting to them this hardcourt season.

I'm so happy... :)

But this week is the real test. I'm so glad Richard is back, Venus plays so much better when Richard is around... :)

I was only talking about wimbledon and paris, I think in her semi against Justine in wimbledon she played very well too.
Still I agree Serena helps her to get more sharp and level up. I think she now realises Serena will never give her a match or games for free so she needs to have the same attitude when playing her next time in order to have a chance against queen Serena version 2002:)
