Ok, i'm really happy, cuz i've played this guy about 10 times and never even won a set, although i've come close
but tonight i had a breakthrough, i won the first set 6-3, then had a major letdown and lost the 2nd set 1-6, and then got down quickly again 1-4 in the final set.
At this point i was thinking, "here we go, i'm gonna lose again."
But i kept fighting and tied it at 4-4, we both held for 5-5, and then i was broken and trailed 5-6. Then i was shocked when he cracked and hit 4 consecutive errors for me to break and then came the final set tiebreak, US Open style.
I turned it on, hit some winners and some drop shots, got up 6-0 in the breaker, and then he netted a forehand and i had FINALLY WON!!! I dropped my racket in disbelief and walked to shake hands, I STILL CANT BELIEVE I DID IT!
6-3, 1-6, 7-6(0)!!! Amazing, one of the longest matches i've ever played at that high level of play, i'm so happy.
i hope i can beat him again this week to prove it was no fluke!!
WISH ME LUCK!
