Ok, i'm really happy, cuz i've played this guy about 10 times and never even won a set, although i've come close

but tonight i had a breakthrough, i won the first set 6-3, then had a major letdown and lost the 2nd set 1-6, and then got down quickly again 1-4 in the final set.
At this point i was thinking, "here we go, i'm gonna lose again."

But i kept fighting and tied it at 4-4, we both held for 5-5, and then i was broken and trailed 5-6. Then i was shocked when he cracked and hit 4 consecutive errors for me to break and then came the final set tiebreak, US Open style.

I turned it on, hit some winners and some drop shots, got up 6-0 in the breaker, and then he netted a forehand and i had FINALLY WON!!! I dropped my racket in disbelief and walked to shake hands, I STILL CANT BELIEVE I DID IT!

6-3, 1-6, 7-6(0)!!! Amazing, one of the longest matches i've ever played at that high level of play, i'm so happy.

i hope i can beat him again this week to prove it was no fluke!!

WISH ME LUCK!

Congrats! It's a great feeling to get over that "hump".

I play against a guy whose game drives me bonkers. So when I get a W, I enjoy it.

Keep on winning, man.

I'm glad you guys could go three sets. My friends don't want to play on after losing the first set to me. Bad sports or lazy asses?

Those tight third-set wins are great. It shows you your level of mental toughness and your ability to fight. Keep it up. :)

My friend is a great player, but we practice a lot together and I have beaten him a few times. That always feels good :) I also do a lot better against him than most people.

Congrats!

I have a 5-0 record this summer against my doubles partner:

I won
6-1,6-7(11-13),6-4

4-6,6-2,6-4

6-1,6-0

5-7,7-6(7-3),6-1

6-3,6-7(5-7),6-4

as you can see, i wouldn't trade my place with him on any day, OUCH! I wonder what it is like to lose close matches:) I'm so happy and relieved everytime i finish off the match. Somehow i am winning and leading comfortably and I JUST have to make it more complicated for my self, i hate it! That's something i have to improve ya kno!
