This is what i think, you can agree or have your own observations

Hantuchova has the best chance, Eleni Danilidou is top 10 material but not this year, maybe next year. Dementieva? i don't know she's going to be stuck in 11-20. Rubin? maybe! depending on how she play the rest of the year.

but the top 10 is just too tough right now, and now Davenport is back, and Hingis is also coming back, the other players are really going to have a hard time to reach that elite rankings.

I will be surprised if anyone other than Hantuchova could get to the top 10 this year( note: that is if all the current top 10 do not get injured or retired)

hantuchova has the best chance...she has chances to get into the top ten for the rest of the year, she has nothing to defend at san diego and los angeles, lost in the R32 at canada, didnt even make it to the main draw in new haven, and lost first round at the us open, so she has a good chance...

I think that the top 10 players will not change, and yes, maybe Hantuchova. I think that Rubin was silly not to play last week, with a real impressive run from now till the rest of the year she may have pushed for top 10 contention.

Daniela looks like a safe bet but i'd love to see Chanda back where she belongs :) Hope it happens soon

Hantuchova may barely make it into the top ten, but I don't see GS potential there. Maybe after Jenn, Lindsay and Monica retire, and the field opens up a bit.

I think that's a comment that should be remembered. When Daniela has won her first slam (and yes, I did say "when" not "if") we'll bump up this thread.

We would have a field day, if we started to bring up all the threads in which all of his prediction were wrong, in fact I am still waiting for someone to bring up a thread at French Open, where off memory he said "You heard it here first" in relation to Asa Svensson defeating Elena Dementieva in the 2nd rd. it never happened and it was quickly forgotton..

So anything Volcana says should be taken with a grain on salt..

Rubin has the best chance with hardly any points to defend for the rest of the year.
