Ok,as we all miss her much and want to see her playing again,here's the Doha thread a week in advance :p We can count down the days here ;)

Doha is Tier II, is it not, so that means the top four seeds get byes. So probably Wednesday before Sveta plays. So let's be patient... I think it's a Saturday final, by the way, and the same for Dubai the week after. GO SVETA!! Hope the training is going well.

Yes, it looks like a great draw, let's hope Sveta doesn't have a let-down. Quarter-final could be tough, but things could have been much worse. So good luck Sveta, we hope you can do it, and at least defend the points from last year, maybe even go all the way....!

yeah Ana lost points from Tokyo this year so her ranking dropped but she soesn't have any to defend at Doha so Sveta needs to play well to keep her ranking :).

Well, well, well. What a disappointment. Exactly what we, Sveta's fans, were hoping wouldn't happen. Presumably one of her "off days", which blighted her 2007 at times, seemingly continuing now to blight her 2008. She has to eliminate these kind of performances and do better. Sorry. Better luck in Dubai.

In the big picture, this is nothing. Sveta moves on to Dubai. This wasn't a major. She can still get to #2 next week or this spring.
But it's not a good sign when the roof getting closed beats her in Melbourne and wind beats her in Doha.
Sveta has to handle these situations. Roofs and weather are always going to be a part of tennis.
