Graphics Makers Tour

Hey Graphics Makers!, This is a game that will be focused on doing Graphics Contest more often than they're being doing them now, because lets face it! Its cool, and we all enjoy it!

It would consist in 6 tournaments

We will have SINGLES & DOUBLES in all the tournaments.
Who did WICH graphic will be UNKNOWN until the end of the match.
Taks would consist on matches, stadium, place where tournament is being held and everything related to the tournament!
We will follow strictly the tournament deadlines (24 hours to make graphics) and we will use DRAW format because is faster than RR format.
All matches will be best of 3 sets, and for each match we will send 3 tasks that will be chosen by the managers. Finals will be best of 5 sets, and we'll use 5 tasks chosen by the manager.
Everyone can vote, dosent matter if you're a graphic maker or not.. but only once per set.
The rankings wll be the same as the real tour, with the same points distribution, however the Fed Cup final and the BEST GRAPHIC MAKER OF THE YEAR will give the same amount of points than a GS!
Fed Cup will be played normally as the other tournaments!
More rules to come..!

Do we have to suggest tournaments in order to join?

And do we have to participate in all tournaments or we can choose which ones we want to enter? I understand we will have to play the mandatory events...

Willam

You have to play GS & FC final as mandatory events ;)

You can choose to play or not in the other tournaments..

Is also Mandatory YEC!

And no, if you dont wanna suggest tournaments, dont do it, you still can participate, but if you vote is better cuz we can choose the tournaments to be played faster..

Please poiree just pick 1 for each month, 1 of those that are on the list on post #2..

Thanks!

I don't really think it matters which tournaments will be played... it doesn't make any difference. You have enough suggestions already so I don't think it will be a problem to pick the ones that will be played.

And yes, we are joining!

I'd like to make a suggestion. I think it would be better if we had a free size graphic instead of the 96x96 in the future...or at least if the 96x96 graphic would be the last set because they aren't very attractive and if they are the 1st set we often don't get to vote for banners which I think would be more interesting as you can experiment much more with banners than with little avies :)

I have another suggestion, since I noticed some people reveal during voting which graphic is theirs... The poster whose match is in progress shouldn't be allowed to post anything other than votes for the other matches in progress in the tournament thread until his match is over

I would like to hear what others think about this :)

Maryamator

^^
i agree with that

I would suggest that we begin and the Olympics and US Open commitment now so we wouldn't have to wait for people to commit once the Olympics are over and we can begin immediately with the US Open (since the real US Open is only a week after the Olympics). Thoughts?

We need somebody to run the US Open, too :)

Willam
Jul 6th, 2008, 11:56 PM
agree. dont you wanna run the open?

Poiree
Jul 6th, 2008, 11:58 PM
I can, but I thought it would be more fair if we had different people running the tournaments :)

I would like to run it if nobody else wants to

tokyo?

Andreas
Sep 9th, 2008, 08:10 PM
^I think it will be YEC ;)

Poiree
Sep 9th, 2008, 10:36 PM
yes :) it is YEC

since we didn't have many players this year and the tournaments were lasting pretty long, we only had the grand slams and the olympics. I hope next year we will be able to have at least a few more tournaments in addition to these :)

I came up with another suggestion (I am so spamming this thread )...

I think we should elect a new board for the next season. I planned to open a thread where people would apply and once the deadline for applications is over I would add a multiple choice public poll to the thread. Everybody would have a right to apply, but only people who took part in GMT earlier (singles or doubles) would have the right to vote. And I think we should have 3-5 board members.

If you have any further suggestions, please post :)

Opinions?
