Which I don't think she will, but how will you view her as number 2.

Ill see her exactly the same way... she deserves to be 2 her ranking points indicate that .... do I think shes the second best player? No .... and even if she beat Justine tomorrow I still wouldnt think she was the second best player.

This thread is moot because Sveta will lose. Matter of fact, she has already lost. Rematch? She loses again

:wavey: Sveta. Try shot selection sometime sweetie

Sveta beat Justine last year, on clay.
Do it at a major.

She'll still get fuck all respect on this forum just because she isn't pretty like other girls.

She is good but her briiliance doesn't show that often against the best players. Compare to say the Sisters and Justine, she is still a league apart...I am afraid. However, she is a proper threat to any of the best players, if she wants to win tomorrow, she will have to hold her emotion together when she is ahead, or indeed when she is behind in the match.

I picked the last option  but beating Justine in a TII F is scraps. Let's see her do it at a major.

Justine's beaten her in five finals.
2004 Dubai - 76(3) 63
2005 Warsaw - 36 62 75
2006 Paris - 64 64
2007 Doha - 64 62
2007 Flushing Meadows - 61 63

To end Justine's winning streak, you would have to respect Kuznetsova for winning.

However, she needs to do something at a slam before I consider her a contender for anything.

It would bring more credibility to her # 2 ranking but I would still put Ana, Maria, Venus and Serena ahead of her in terms of "Who is the Best?"

Sorry Svetlana fans but I voted for option 4 - which is only my own opinion of course!

Sveta is #2 now and she will be after the final no matter what happens.

She might not be as much of a "showwoman" as the others WTA stars like the Williams, Sharapova or Ivanovic (or even other players less ranked like Golovin or Vaidisova) but she really is a great player, her game is interesting to watch (a lot of girls would kill to have her forehand)... She might not "deserved" (though the points are here to prove the contrary) to be n°2 in 2007 because she only won one title (and in what conditions...) but she made it to the USOpen final and is one of the few girls to have been a contendent to Henin last year. She definitely needs another Slam title soon to earn everybody's respect (it seems like it's been ages since she won the USOpen in... 2004 being just 19 years old!)
Anyway, i really like her because she's a very nice and funny person who does not seem to have an ego the size of an elephant!

I'm definitely not a Sveta's fan, but I have no problem to see her as a number 2 in the word. She really IS the Number 2!

She is number two by ranking, winner of a grand slam and runner up of two, including the last one, she have better curriculum by far than the next two in the ranking

If she does break Justine's winning streak, that would mean she played well.
I'm sure Justine is going to fight hard to keep the streak going.
But I want Sveta to have a big AO. I know she wants to have her best year this year, and Melbourne is giving out the most points until June.

Sveta's only chance of getting to #1 is if Justine stops playing, as the Belgian's consistent results are out of this world - one loss before the SF in the last 18 months or so

Second option. Justine had a horrible schedule in Berlin, due to the rain delays and a very tough come from behind win against Jelena. Justine was poised for a come from behind win against Sveta but the match was stopped in the third set due to rain or darkness, so had to be completed the next morning. At that point Justine was probably too mentally and physically exhausted to really care. Still, I think Sveta has a chance of winning tody if Justine is not near her best.

I don't think Sveta feels like #2, but I don't think anyone else does either. Will the real #2 step up?

lol sveta does feel like #2, she wants to be #1 by the end of the year....

Anyways... If she beats Justine it says one thing to me..... she still sveta. You can count on one thing with her. Shes consistant.. She never really plays great, just good..... you have to beat her. And Justine has a winning streak, but its not like she plays great all the time. Shes winning a ton of her matches the same way Serena did in 2002, off of fear. All she has to do is play someone playing amazing the way she play ana the other day and she loses....

Henin is a class above the whole field.

Hopefully we have a competitive final tomorrow, and the current No. 2 gets close, real close.

She is #2 because she has won more ranking points than those ranked #3 and below. She has reached a grand slam final, plus three Tier I finals, and has beaten Justine, all in the last twelve months. She deserves to be there.

there is no she is #2 even if she loses option.
