Jan 10th, 2008, 09:13 AM
This is one vote I refuse to choose...I like both players... why are they drawn together???

Yet, the irony is that I'll be glad that one of them will go through to the final qualifying round.:tape:

Jan 10th, 2008, 09:17 AM
Even though Tanasugarn is terrible, she'd still be the overwhelming favorite to beat Dokic. I'd say TT in 2 sets easily because it's too much to expect a win from Dokic right now

Jan 10th, 2008, 09:17 AM
tammy Give her a lesson.......... don't give up coz i 'm cheering u

Jan 10th, 2008, 09:19 AM

Jan 10th, 2008, 10:03 AM
It's going to be 38degrees tomorrow. I think Jelena will win in 2 easily :)

Jan 10th, 2008, 10:09 AM
JELENA crushed marina who had a great auckland, so i will go with dokic.
if dokic beats tammy, she has GREAT chance of qualifying.:bounce:

Jan 10th, 2008, 10:10 AM
if jelnenas level of tennis doesnt drop its gonna be hard for anyon in quallies to challenger her...something like 18 winners and about 21 errors...thats crazy with how hard she hits the ball :)

the question is, can she keep it up?

Jan 10th, 2008, 10:13 AM
So tough for Jelena, hope she make it..

Jan 10th, 2008, 10:14 AM
That pic of Tammy is ....

But anyway, Jelena in 3:)

Jan 10th, 2008, 12:04 PM
Jelena in 2! Good luck dok hope she keeps the form up

Jan 10th, 2008, 12:12 PM
Jelena in 2.

Jan 10th, 2008, 12:36 PM
I hope it's Jelena in 3 :)

Jan 10th, 2008, 01:44 PM
Jelena in 2

Jan 10th, 2008, 02:53 PM
I don't think this is a matchup Jelena likes, but I think she's got a great shot to take this match if she maintains her form.

Jan 10th, 2008, 02:59 PM
Jelena , Jelena ,Jelena and once more Jelena!! Commone Crash her!!

Jan 10th, 2008, 03:35 PM
I love both of them... on my side, i hope Tammy to win. She needs points and we cannot expect much from Jelena right now, So Tammy in 3 can be possible.

Jan 10th, 2008, 03:37 PM
Tanasugarn 6-3 6-2

Jan 10th, 2008, 03:43 PM
Dokic in 2.

Jan 10th, 2008, 04:17 PM
Dokic in three.

Jan 10th, 2008, 04:27 PM
tammy in 3.

Jan 10th, 2008, 04:33 PM
Go Dokic!! I don't know if it will be 2 or 3 but I'm predicting her for the win!

Jan 10th, 2008, 04:34 PM
Tammy in 3

Jan 10th, 2008, 04:44 PM
Although i like Tammy aswell, i have to say DOKIC in str8.:bounce:

Jan 10th, 2008, 04:52 PM
Tammy will win no matter how hot it is in Aus...Thailand is hot as well....

Best of luck for Tammay and Dokic

Jan 10th, 2008, 05:06 PM
I hope Dokic wins. Tammy hits a flat ball so she will give Jelena the constant ball she will need so that might help Jelena get her timing down in the match and lower her errors. tammy serve isn't that great either so she might be able to take advantage of that.

Jan 10th, 2008, 05:11 PM
I think Jelena will win like 6-4,6-4

Jan 10th, 2008, 06:05 PM
Tammy is not the player she used to be. she went 17-25 last year and hasn't done anything in a long time. Dokic easily

Jan 10th, 2008, 06:09 PM
Dokic 7-5 6-3

Jan 10th, 2008, 06:12 PM
If Jelena is as committed to tennis as she's been quoted, it'll be easy for her.

Especially if she wins first set, can't see TT competing in this heat.

Jan 10th, 2008, 06:37 PM
It will be Jelena's easiest win in 2008 :D

Jan 10th, 2008, 08:14 PM
I think Jelena will win like 6-4,6-4

I was thinking the same thing.:)

Still a better record than Dokic had last year ;)

Tough draw for 2R qualifying  Really can't make a call, I'd be happy for both players.

Jan 10th, 2008, 08:28 PM
You'd have to say Dokic, despite their head2head. I haven't heard of Tanasugarn for atleast 2 years, and Dokic is playing some good tennis. Has already defeated 3 top 100 players (in a row) in Hobart, and yesterday defeated Erakovic easily 6-4 6-1, after Erakovic reached the SF of Auckland last week. Dokic needs to capitulize on this for while she's got it, so she can get her ranking up. I hope its a good match.

Jan 10th, 2008, 08:49 PM
I think this will be tough.

Jan 10th, 2008, 08:53 PM
from dokic "I haven't had a great life and a great couple of years so I am really just enjoying this. This is the thing that I will always love, no matter what happens in my life off the court. That is all I want to do right now." she really wants this:)

Jan 10th, 2008, 08:56 PM
I like them both and both could use the win but it would be nice to see dokic get her form back and be in the mix of things again so go Dokic.

Jan 10th, 2008, 09:03 PM

Yep. Starving athletes are dangerous. Have you seen Cinderella Man?

Jan 10th, 2008, 09:48 PM
Hopefully Dokic can keep truckin.
I like Tammy thoug, too.

Jan 10th, 2008, 09:52 PM
I've never been this preoccupied with the results from qualifying.

Jan 10th, 2008, 10:33 PM
Tammys flat shots and steady pace are perfect for Dokic to unleash on. Tamarine is not going to run down a whole lot of balls either.
If Dokic imposes her game from early on, she will win in straight sets, there is no reason why she should lose if she executes her shots well.
Tammy is tough on hardcourts, and the heat doesnt bother her as much as everyone here seems to think, but her game hasn't been any good for a few years now... dare I say, obscure, she manages to save herself with some good challenger results/low tier tournaments, but most girls in the top 50 wouldn't struggle with her, and I personally don't think she has any future in the top 50 for the rest of her career.
Dokic hits harder, serves better, and when she gets into form, she also moves faster. Dokic will come to this match on form, and after a few tight games, will outhit Tamarine for a straight sets win.
However, If this match goes to three sets, Dokic is more likely to begin spraying the ball than Tammy, so Dokic just needs to ensure that she finishes this match in 2 sets and she will be fine.

Dokic 6-4 6-2.
