I really miss the beautiful green, do not like the blue very much,
especially the gray darker blue inside the courts,
the light blue outside the courts is beautiful, I think.

That was one thing about the Australian Open that I liked too. I liked that they kept the old school green court. I especially liked it with the green backdrop. Oh well.

The USO was on grass too, a few miles from the current site

I think they've changed them because it's easier to track the ball on television. Yellow is farther from blue on the color spectrum than green. Orange and green are technically the worst colors to see a yellow ball against (other than yellow of course). I guess if they had to pick between red, blue, or purple...blue was probably the best choice.

They could have changed the ball color though. A neon pink ball would be easy to see against a green court. Who knows what they'll think of next.

All they had to do was make the inside court colour darker green and any ball tracking problem would have been solved :(

Improved? Yes. Nevertheless it is easier to track a yellow ball on any shade of blue than any shade of green.

Regardless, I do miss the green.

I'm not one for nationalism/national symbols, but I always liked how the green court and yellowish balls were like Australia's colours of green and gold.

But I actually like the blue.
