Who stands the better chance of winning

For the first time in many years there will be 2 kiwis in qualifying....both start as underdogs

Marina will win
Sacha will not

Im hoping that both will

Marina is playing very well. I definately think she can beat Dokic and go on to qualify. Sacha is not playing well at all however. I don't see her winning a match.

Marina's draw is kind of in reverse. Tough matches in Dokic and possibly Tamasugarn first and second. Has she played Tamarine before?

Your aware that coming into Auckland she won something like 3 or 4 tournaments straight. Yes they were only NZMT matches, but even so she still gains from that a winning feeling :)

I didn't think so...but then I did a H2H search and they have met once before back in the first round of a 25k event. Marina won in 3 sets.

Meng is a beatable player, it should go to three sets

Perhaps. But looking at her results on the ITF circuit and of course against Zvonereva I'm not expecting a win from her. Her opponent isn't bad. Last year she qualified and won a match in the main draw and she is ranked 122. Jones is young and she should improve but right now I don't see her as competitive at this level, but we will see.

I hope at least 1 wins!!!
