Im a fan of Patty this is hard for me seeing her lose matches she should win

I think this will be her last year on the tour Patty is lacking alot of self confidence and she I dont think she can make it into the top 10 again

What are your thoughts on Patty Schnyder for this year

I also don't see her back in the top 10, but I think she'll be a constant presence in the 12-20 range for the rest of the year.

She will stick around until the end of 2009, I think.

Patty is still able to beat any player. Its too early to write her off, lets wait what happens

I really like her and would love to see her have a great 2008 season. I think she'll stick around a few more years.

Top 15- 20 at least playing 25- 30 tournaments ---> many of them with a weak field

I don't see Patty retiring anytime soon...I think she'll play for another 4-5 years despite being 29. She can beat anyone on any given day....you can never count out Patty.

Patty ended last year well making the final in Linz and started this year strongly beating Schiavone (who she's lost her last 2 matches), Mauresmo and being within a couple of points of beating an inform Na Li.

I don't think this thread is particularly necessary right now. I doubt Patty is going to retire at the end of the year. I think the fear of having to spend 24 hours a day with Rainer will keep her on tour for at least 20 more years  Unless he dumps her for a younger model as JR predicts.

Patty's 2008 will probably be like 2007: she'll reach some finals and not much else. I wish she would do better in Slams these days, but she's not ever there mentally.

She'll probably stay in the Top 20, perform well at a few Tier I/II events, but fail to make any serious dent in the Grand Slams.

Patty will be around awhile longer, say 3/4 yrs! Then again, she may decide to take a year off and have a baby and then return. One never knows!

patty and her hair will continue to have 3 or 4 realy good tournaments a year and a lot of average ones, that will be enough to keep her top 20 for a couple of years yet.

Well, I am the unquestioned #1 Patty hater on this board. Frankly, I think she is one of the most over-rated players ever. The TRICKY Patty Schnyder - what a joke. lol Her game is not Top 10. She's a nice average player. Yea, she got to the top 10 but that was by circumstance not skill.

She might win a Grand Slam this year.

Patty is my favourite player to cheer against her, but I hope she'll stay at top (15-20)...Even I must say that without her it'll never be the same again :hearts:

Patty caught a bad break with the changed AO surface, because the Rebound Ace was the best one for her game. I think Schnyder can continue to do the same things she has been doing in the recent years, play a lot of tournaments and at a few of them she will get some luck of the draw, some decent wins, and keep her ranking stable. Her game is still basically in good shape to stay near Top 10.

Schnyder's husband openly criticized her in Swiss press for the lose to Dallacqua, I just read his comments, he said she played wrong tactics and without interest or some other things. But it's quite tough to play on a surface that favor the opponent's game in front of a huge crowd cheering against her.

I think Patty needs to get some self-respect and tell her psychopathic asswipe of a husband to go and fuck himself.

Well, Patty is one of my favorite players ever, and she frustrates me no end. In the past year, she has made such an improvement to her serve, and I thought that would result in more wins, but it hasn't. She can still get to the big match, but then she loses it. I wish she would get a new coach--there is still so much potential there. I think she'll be around at least through next year, but it's hard for me to watch her slip down the rankings. On the other hand, it's always been hard to watch Patty's under-achieving self.

My thoughts on Patty this year is that she needs a miracle to get back into the top 10.

I think you've gone beyond the definition a typical hater JR. You're Patty Schnyder/Rainer Hofmann's arch nemesis

Guess so. I mean how many ppl here have gotten gameplans into the hands of players who haven't yet beaten a bitch the object of their scorn? :yeah: BTW, not the case here, all credit to Casey and her coach. :)
