Jul 24th, 2002, 08:03 PM
Thought you all would like to know....

I was listening to sports report on ESPN this morning and they reported that Serena is negotiating a 62 million dollar over 5 years contract with Puma....

Everyone cross your fingers and wish her luck!!!

Watch out Venus, w/ your 40 million contract. This is just great news to hear. I hope this happens. Then Serena is taking over venus on everything. Venus was the higest endoursed athelete, now it might be Serena. Watch our Anna. Looks like everyone really knows who is better to endourse!

WOW.. she will be #1 among women athletes. DAMB...

But also we should remeber that Venus did open up the door for Serena and all the rest of these female athletes. Such great news. I bet Serena will really be styling now. Now we are waiting for her own clothing line to open up. Whew things are happening extra fast!

That's some serious cheddar! Go Serena! Ummm, I wonder if she can hook a brotha up...LOL.

:) :) :)

Actually, I would rather she got 57 million, and Puma gave $10,000 a year for the next five years to players #101 to #200. Serena can make up the million a year in music videos and movies.:)

Jul 24th, 2002, 08:21 PM
She worked hard for it. Go Seena!!!:bounce:  :bounce:

If she sign her 62 millions contract, will she get 62 millions? Or the outfits are in?

Jul 24th, 2002, 09:23 PM
Come on kim, she would get 60 million dollars spread out over five years for wearing, promoting puma gear. Lol imagine 62 million arriving in her back account at once!!

Well unless she has some very bood accountants, which she may well have, uncle sam will take a huge chunk of her money.

perhaps if she created a foundation or charity organization overseen by her and then had puma cut her organization a check instead of her, she then could have a serena williams shopping spree event or a serena williams housing development fund to meet the housing needs of serena williams. sounds crazy but people did that, until a year go when congress nixed it a little over two years ago, i think.

"Serena williams housing development fund"...thats too funny

What would the slogan be ..something like " poor destitute mansion owner badly in need of a couple of castles for me and my dog"

I'm not sure Serena is worth $62 mil.

Anton, Anton, Anton, Serena needs to break the 60 mil barrier so Venus can get 70 mil. Recognize the game why don't ya? ;)

Pop Williams must be in seventh heaven!
Does anybody know what his coaching and management fees are? I guess he would never tell.

Fathers around here, what are you doing? ... Get going and have two daughters! Eighteen years from now you'll get millions (of US$) for your trouble or, shall we say, your pleasure.

Just go to puma and look up there quarterly earnings and you will know how big of a company they are.

also isn't nike or rebook trying to steal her away? nike would be foolish to pass up serena, hmm but serena would be foced to wear identical outfits that daniela lindsay and every other female tennis player wears, yuck.

No more puma gear! She looked so fun in her soccer outfit at the french this year :) But anyways, congrats to her. She's deserved it this year so far.

I hope Serena stays with Puma and they reward her enough to keep her there for years to come (whatever the price!)

Go Serena, you earned it!

It's good to see the bar being raised again.
If Serena can get $62 Mill (topping sis in yet another ranking) from Puma, what can some other player who wins multiple slams in a year :) get from one of "the big 3"?

And just a piece of that large pie could go a long way toward funding tennis development in Africa.

I don't think Puma has such that money.

Come on Anna....makes USD 63 million !!
