I watched the Hopman Cup and she seemed to be hobbled. I thought playing mixed would hurt her chances in Oz. But I see that she played a LOOONG 3 setter against Tati. Won, and ofcouse gonna play again. Was she crying wolf?
I would've rested this week, started training on Wednesday if I felt up to it. But I don't get her, she will soon suffer the Kim Clijsters effect if she don't calm it down a bit and take care of her body.
What am i missing about her?

Yeah, I'm only trying to get her...So I think that she injured herself...it wasn't that serious but it was painful. The treatments were painful too but it helped ease the pain in her ass. Then she decided she's good to play (which is obvious now). And she really needs matches 'cos she had short off-season training!

The right word to use is: Intox. It isn't new in the tennis world.

Jelena said she was injured to let people think it will be easy to beat her.She doesn't have pressure on her shoulder as the press and her opponents believe she's really injured. It's something that I call "intox", but maybe only the french use this word.

Sorry, nothing to do with botox...:p

That would be smart, if only it was true! At HC tournament doctor said that she's in pain and that she's receiving painful treatments so it's not good for her to play singles...There's an article in JJ's subforum about it.

"I know I'm a pain in the butt," a jovial Jankovic said, "but now I have a pain in the butt."

maybe she recovered enough to play and since she is a better player than Golovin won? That has happened before.

Aww I love JJ but I dunno what she is thinking! I lose a lot of vCash betting on Golovin but it was worth every penny to see JJ win!

What's there to get? She didn't seem hobbled... she was hobbling, and it was pretty evident that she was not playing to her potential. She's certainly not the first or the last player to play with an injury. Was it over-dramatic? Sure, but so was the whole Serena injury fiasco at Wimbledon. All she had was a strain and not a tear, so maybe all she needed was a couple of days to recover. If she wants to risk injury by playing too much it's her business and not ours.

if you play sport, or do alot of physical activity you know that from time to time you can get these little niggles here there and everywhere! they can last for a few days, a few weeks even, but they can go as quickly as they appeared, so maybe thats what happened with jelena. or thats what i hoped happened, i dont think she should be playing still injured.. im sure its happened to alot of players in the past, but unlike they jelena they retire or withdraw to avoid futher damage or injury!!

Wow, the bitter one has spoken. I personally like Jankovic, wouldn't call myself a fan yet. But she's an exciting fresh player that I want to see last well beyond the age of 25 years. I thought her FANS could share some insite, not a non-fan. It's cool though.:D

I think Jankovic is a very live in the moment kinda personality. I don't think she's thinking at all about the long-term effects of her schedule or playing through her injuries, I think she just does what she enjoys. I think she was having a great time at Hopman Cup and wanted to stay there and just didn't think further than that.

I don't agree with a lot of her decisions (please don't bash me, I really do enjoy watching her play) but I don't think she'll regret any of them. She reminds me of the great Natasha Zvereva.

Mmmm I dunno. I just assume that it's her body and she knows what she's doing and enjoy watching her play :).

Don't you know that Hopman Cup, Sydney, Birmingham and Rosmalen are the most important tennis events? That's why JJ gives it all playing them.

Well, things have been going on here the past few days, and so I haven't been caught up a lot on what is going on in Sydney. Today I read that Jankovic def. Golovin and I was like...uh what  I completely thought that she would have withdrawn this week to save herself for Melbourne. Well, I guess she knows herself more than we do, so it's her decision.

In Sydney in the crowds are like 100 or so crazy Serbian fans all dressed in Serbian soccer colors and who cheer Jelena and other Serbian players I think she feels like she has to play for them and her other fans. She said in Perth she did it for the fans she couldnt let them down. But Anna is doing it for the Serbian fans so I dont know why Jelena just doesnt rest. I have a ticket for the final I dont want to get there for her to potentially be in it and retire half way through or worse before the match even starts (if she is to make the final).

i think it's a combination of a real injury and Jankovic being a bit of a drama queen. All that i'm so badly injured but i love my country so much, we're warriors blah blah was a bit much.

Very disappointed in Tati.

Jelena needs to chill the f-k out! She won me over recently and I find her a very frustrating player to be a fan of. Venus and Seles were frustrating enough.
