Of course "a bit" of choking from JJ, she was leading 5-0 in the third
Next up is Nicole :)

Tati . A bit disappointing, but compared to the horrible first set, this is quite a relief to see her bothering Jankovic.

is jj injured?

Apparently, yes.. Tati isn't Whitehead, so I don't think JJ would have beaten her if she was seriously injured again.

Anyway well done JJ and please Tati get better for the AO or you won't go far once more :o ..

Erm the injury is not better, she had to call out the trainer at one stage who worked on her back, at that stage it was late and i was sick of hearing the screaming Serbians at the crowd so I went home :p

She was not having problems with her back in Perth???

Would you say she was moving better than in the Hopman cup?

Mikey.
Jan 8th, 2008, 08:53 AM
She was not having problems with her back in Perth???

Yes she did. She kept complaining how it was tight. And after playing with her thigh injury she put stress on her back and injured it more.

renstar
Jan 8th, 2008, 08:59 AM
her movement seemed fine and she was not wearing any leg strapping at all but at one stage i saw her touch like her back area just above her butt. Her play in the first set I must say was magnificent, best form of any of the girls ive seen all week but it was getting late so went home. I do feel its unfair on herself and fans though that she plays if she expects to retire in some match with injury, rest up Jelena for Melbourne!

That is fantastic! But yeah I have to say, she needs to go and get some rest! She's gona burn out even before the season is in full swing.

Well Nicole also actually picked her form markedly from playing Cammy to whipping Daniellas arse. big big serving, lots of first serves around 180km +, should be one hell of a batlle if Jelenas fit!

She gives Venus good battles every time and has beaten Nicole on a few big occasions. But if Nicole is serving well, that's obviously much more difficult.

I think she meant that playing with that injury during HC might have been career threatening. But, yes, she is drama queen and if you look at her website it's one of her "official" nicknames

Great first set from Jelena I was really impressed with her game in that first set. Tati really did nothing wrong. Overall much better quality that Vaidisova v Hantuchova which was a massive error fest.

This is tennis not Football, Rugby or Cricket they go a bit over the top sometimes and can get borderline rude in some instances. Thats just my opinion I find them to be very irritating and annoying and make me want to cheer for the other player, Im not the only one in the croud who shared that opinion.

Jelena - :worship: - fantastic news particularly with the posters who saw it saying how well she played in that first set. Hope Jelena can pull out a win against Nicole who will be harder.

I always thought Jelena would make it and play. She's done it before when she's had a very real injury. Like last year I never thought she'd recover from her injury in the previous tournament to play at Indian Wells - but she did play there.

One thing I'd like to know from anyone who saw the match. Is her serve better than it was. She got some Aces which is why I'm asking.
