In the last meeting between the pair (French Open) it was Kuznetsova to have the upper hand, but overall Pe'er leads 2-1 (twice on Hard court).

Who will win this time?

If Sveta is serious about maintaining her ranking, she will be ready for this match

Sveta is better player, but she must thinking about AO and this match is much more important for Peer. I think that Peer's chances is not so bad at the moment vs WTA#2.

I just love you :hearts:

You make it sounds reasonble enough.
Anyway, I don't know what to say. On the one hand, I think Kuzi will come more than ready to this match and the new year. On the other hand, I am keep telling myself that Shahar played her 3 times and won twice it will not be that "out of the blue" upset, Plus Shahar played some matches before coming to this 2nd round as oppose to Kuzi that this is her first match of the season.

Kadima Shahar!

I really think this is going to be a very close and unstable match. this is Sveta's first match of the year, and Shahar has some matches in Gold Coast so it is not going to be easy for Kuzzy. I think Sveta will win in 3 sets, like 6-4 5-7 6-3. I just hope they both will play good and the better will win.

oh this one im not sure....shahar hadn't lose to kuzy yet in hardcourt and she had some matches under her belt so it's advantageous for her....

Svetlana, like all the Top Russians, doesn't care at all about Sydney.

Peer should take it because it's much more important for her.

I think because she has had more match preparation, Peer, plus she leads the H2H on hardcourts.

Kuzzie is my favorite, but I think Peer will win this one. She's awfully good on the hardcourts, and Kuznetsova isn't known for starting the year strongly. I just love the match up of the two, also. Peer's retrieving skills and backhand, Kuznetsova's footwork and forehand, fun tennis to watch.

well, if she wants Henin's place, to defeat Peer is a minimum
