Ula would have made it to both Gold Coast and Auckland qualies this week based on her ranking. Hopefully she will be lucky next week and make it in Hobart.
I'm surprised Ula and Aga are not trying to make it to AO doubles together, they would have a good chance IMO with their joint ranking of about 160 (25+135). Is it confirmed Aga plays with Krajicek or is it just Hobart?

Actually, Ula + Aga have got a better ranking than Jans/Rosolska...

As far as AO qualies are concerned, assuming Shaughnessy withdraws (rumours she is out for 6 months at least) and Dentoni not playing, Ula is now the 1st alternate :woohoo:
Hopefully she makes it into the draw. That would be absolutely great!

I'm not sure but TBE said Domachowska was stupid not to take the Hobart feed-up as qualies were starting on the semifinal day in Hobart.

St.Sebastian

Just checked and last year they started on Thursday. The AO website says the draw will be up on Monday  which would suggest qualies start on Tuesday.
I would go with TBE though...

Deleting from Q list all 6 MD WC and considering Dentoni is playing in Florida, Hrozenska is last one unofficially in Q.

Next one in is U.Radwanska (though Meghann hasn't confirmed her withdrawal we can safely say the Polish girl is also in)

Next one then it would be #251 Ana Jovanovic

I wouldn't make judgements just now, she did beat Kremer who is a tough opponent and a top-80 player. We can't expect her to beat every top-100 player she plays against. Hope she gets the big points at Melbourne, 15 points for a match is a lot in her ranking situation.

Ula's got a decent draw at AO, this is her section:

[4] Schruff vs Wlodarczak
Ozegovic vs Kvitova
Brianti vs U. Radwańska

Too bad that she will probably have to face Julia in the 2nd round.:(

Sadly she will lose to whoever she plays. I'd rather she got drawn against some good player (though all top40 players will be seeded), so at least it wouldn't have been seen as a bad loss. I think she has a complex of little sister, who's said to be better than her sibling and this pressure gets to her. I'm pretty sure she would've been inside top100 by now at least, if she didn't have an older sister who achieved more and yet still there's so much hope put on her.

*wants to be proven wrong and eat it all asap (at least after IW)*

St.Sebastian

The main draw cut is around 100 so she could potentially beat quite a few of the players in the draw. That's if mentally strong (ehhhmmm) Ula turns up.
I don't think Ula's results have been that bad this year. She had two decent wins in her GS debut, beat top-100 Kremer who is always tough, in Middle East she beat 3 top-150 players giving them a total of 10 games in 3 matches. So she CAN play. Of course she will be inconsistent but Aga had some bad losses last year as well and it was good performances here and there that gave a quick boost to her ranking.

I saw the match. Yan was just not warmed up the first set. You know she is a fighter and has no problem coming from behind.

Yan had her thigh taped after the third game. Ula had her ankle wrapped (I think) in the second set. Both played as if not bothered by injury.

Yan played so well, it was a pleasure to watch. I actually enjoyed watching her more than Peng's match, which followed. Ula actually played well too. I had never seen her before.

Ula got so frustrated that she was yelling, and crying, in the third set. (About like Zvonareva .)

I think it's even worse that she lost in 3. I'd rather she lost in 2 easy sets, than wasting a chance to win. Clearly the momentum was with her as she had pts to win every single game at the start of 2nd set... I followed SB until 0-4 in the 2nd, then I just went to bed as the result was already known. She needs to work on her behaviour too, which is nothing new.

We want to create a subforum for Aga, but we are wondering how you would feel if Ula's thread was moved there as well, so it would be a "Radwanska sisters" forum?
Some reasons to do this:
They probably share a lot of fans
It's likely that people will talk a bit about Ula in Aga's thread(s) anyway
Ula will probably not get a forum of her own anytime soon;)
