How dare Eva Krejcova enter this tourney at the last moment. She not only robbed a maindraw placing for someone who entered on time, but also a seeding from Kaori Aoyama who didn't deserve to play the 2nd seed and go out in the first rd. I wouldn't have mind if she entered in the first place.

Good to see Aiko Nakamura finally doing well this year. I'm glad she stopped playing juniors.

danker .... so did she get a WC ????

amazed if she did.

I guess everyone is against her as she's the only non-Asian.

They gave out only 2 wildcards instead of 3, so Eva must've gotten the "invisible" one.

Some 2nd rd results:

1-Krejcova d. WC-A Yonemura 6-3 6-3
5-Hiraki d. Q-Nakamura 6-1 7-5
3-Morigami d. Taira 6-1 6-1
Hotta d. Iijima 6-0 6-2
2-Miyagi d. Wada 6-2 6-3

Morigami is playing good tennis again.
Hotta 's form is not surprising. This is her first event of the year, but she's totally dominated the domestic events this year, getting to the finals and winning for almost every single one she entered. She's Top 300 standard at least.

Hi Kaelin!
I'm hoping either Akiko, Rika or Nana wins this event.

Remaining 2nd rd results:

M Inoue d. 8-Takemura 3-6 6-1 6-3
Takase d. 4-Hisamatsu 3-6 6-4 6-1
6-Kitamura d. T Yonemura 4-6 6-4 6-1

Good to see Maiko winning again. Hopefully back to the Top 400 soon. No surprise victory for Ayami. She's been playing very well lately. Glad she turned pro this year after graduating Uni.

Cing, Kaori was just unlucky with the draw. She would have done well otherwise.

Not a bad final. I was hoping for a Morigami/Aoyama final but I don't mind this. Good luck to both girls!!!!

Hi Cing.
Just wondering, how did you become a fan of Kaori Aoyama?
For me, I followed some of her junior results and she won the All-Japan Junior Championships in 1999. She was at same level as Rika Fujiwara in juniors, but Rika's just shot up and left Kaori behind.
It's partly due to Kaori's injuries too.
She will be playing in Cairns, Australia next week. Good luck to her.

Congrats Akiko!

First $25K tourney win, all her titles have been on grass.
She has nothing to defend until next year, hopefully she can finish in the Top 200 and play Aus Open qualies.

Good luck in Cairns this week.
