after a long time the brazilians girls are going to have an project
to help her work in tennis.
The male tennis in Brazil has a great support but the girls haven't any support from sponsors and media.
Today we have 4 or 5 players on top 100 but we don't have any girls on top 200.
The number one of Brazil is ranked #234 on WTA.
We had Maria Bueno (former Wimbledon champion singles and doubles- US OPEN and Australian Open)and other players ranked on top 100 but since 1989 we don't have any girls on TOP 100.
These are the girls that will receive the support:
Vanessa Menga (SP), 25 years old, ranking #374º
Marina Tavares (AL), 17, Wimbledon doubles Junior Semifinalist
Jenifer Widjaja (SP), 15, nº 1 on Brazilian ranking (16 YEARS)
Ana Paula Saviole (SP), 16
Milena de Araújo (SP), 15
Viviane Costa (SP), 17
Marcelle Alves Cláudio (SP), 13
Paula Madruga (RJ), 14
Ana Clara Duarte (RJ), 13
The head coach will be
Carlos Alberto KIRMAYR former coach of Gabriela Sabatini,
Conchita Martinez and Arantxa Sanchez Vicario.
